As much as I will hate it, I agree. Especially considering he's already said the series dies with him, I've pretty much given up hope of him ever finishing the novels. If it happens, then I'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm kind of over Martin anyway. My favorite fantasy series right now is the Stormlight Archive. The first two novels are fantastic and third is expected by early 2016 at the latest. Plus, Sanderson comes across as an author who will finish what he's started.
I'm on the 2nd Stormlight book. Really liking it so far. And I agree on Sanderson, he was the author that was picked to finish the Wheel of Time after Robert Jordan passed away. I felt he did a good job on that as well.
GRRM seems more interested in doing appearances everywhere now, which is aggravating to the fans of the series.

That's what turned me on to his works and I couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to the WoT. I've also read all the Mistborn novels. I guess he's continuing Wax and Wayne's story into another trilogy.

Sorry Kat, that would suck. I can not see that happening. The book is ALWAYS going to be better than the show or movie and I can't see anyone that has read the series excepting the 'show' ending. Remember Mass Effect 3 and the whole uprising by the fanbase? This could a LOT worse if that ever came to pass.
Well I've read the books and if he came out and said the show's ending was canon and he wasn't going to finish the books, I'd accept it. He's not a pussy like the ME people either, or he'd have been bullied into his 10th book by now. I believe the 6th will be out by the end of this year or early next- I've read the passages from it, and they seem pretty polished. But I can see him changing his plans and either ending the series with the 6th book, or writing it to somehow merge the show and books and leave the 6th and 7th seasons on HBO to complete it. This is not a man interested in writing for people. He wrote for himself because he enjoyed it, and now he's doing other things he enjoys and not writing as much because that has become work.

I watched the movie then took the time to read the book. They were both as good & as bad as I was imagining in all the right ways. 
I do find it really funny that everyone is mind-forcing some catastrophic death on to GRRM 'before his time.'

Beginning to wonder why my smartphone is being a piece of shit and not posting comments when I tell it too through TA....I've had several occurrences where I've posted a comment...actually read the comment and a couple below it (yes posts occurred after comment(s) in queston)...go to find said comment and it's just not even there...Ugh

Mine does the same thing. In fact, every phone I've had has had problems with TA.
Can you post through the TA app?? Maybe there's an issue there.

I don't have the TA app, I don't post all that much on my phone anyway, I just find it bothersome that it does that.

I think I should just stop going outside until summer. No matter what I try I still end up almost getting frostbite in my feet for the second time in the last few weeks thanks to unnecessary amounts of snow. I wear thick ass boots with like 5 pairs of socks and multiple layers of pants and then change everything once I get to work and it still fucking happened again. Fuck.

ice cold toe's / feet are def no good. even with all that extra arm stuff it still happens man.
i tell you what that really sucks. i guess my toes /feet are always cold and i've just gotten used to them being cold, cause when i go to sleep at night they are ice cold and i always wear socks and some sort of shoe thing all day

I love purchasing something that says it costs $0.99 in game and it actually was $20
Edit: I got it resolved in about 10 minutes in an online support chat. Normally they wouldn't refund an in app purchase but since he was able to verify it's actually miss priced in game I received a full refund.
