The directors have stated that many things this season will not be the same as the books. They plan to cover all of book 4 and 5 this season.
George RR Martin has even been quoted saying fans of the books will be pissed this season, as many more people that are alive in the books will be killed off on the show.
Personally, now that the show says they will finish before the books do, I think I am going to try my best to avoid the show now. I would like to finish the series the same way I started it, by reading the books.

You think this is bad, I would hate to hear you opinions between the show A Game of Thrones and the book series A Song of Ice and Fire.
That is the whole reason i haven't started reading the books. I found that out the hard way with eragon. Watched the movie, not bad, not bad. Read the book. It instantly becomes the worst movie of all time.
The book series is probably amazing, but i started with the TV show, and i don't want conflicting stories. As you can see i really don't like it.

Actually once you switch your perception (which was really really difficult to do for me) it's really cool illusion, I was like "wtf are people retarded, it's gold and white" I looked at the same picture that someone cropped and then looked at the original and was mindfucked by how my perception changed just like that and could not see gold and white anymore.
At the same time this has gotten way more attention than I though it would, it's just an optical illusion a neat one at that.

As much as I will hate it, I agree. Especially considering he's already said the series dies with him, I've pretty much given up hope of him ever finishing the novels. If it happens, then I'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm kind of over Martin anyway. My favorite fantasy series right now is the Stormlight Archive. The first two novels are fantastic and third is expected by early 2016 at the latest. Plus, Sanderson comes across as an author who will finish what he's started.
