I'm not against Link talking, and the fact that Nintendo's even in these kind of discussions, is pretty cool. Netflix is a good platform, like Marvel is doing with Daredevil, etc. It's easier to distance yourself if it ends up terrible, rather than television, or a movie.
I didn't mind the way they handled this-- is a good example. If it ends up doing well, I always thought the BEST Nintendo franchise to turn live action, is Metroid. I've even pitched it to studios before. The movie (Alien) that inspired the game (Metroid) that turned back into a movie.
Agreed on Metroid. I think the big make or break would be if they decided to make up a whole story, or if they used the plots of the games to at the very least shape what the world looks like, if not drive parts of the plot itself. Actually, the real deal breaker would be if they never made reference to "its a secret to everybody"
