I would certainly like to give it a try.....
I'll never win this debate, but to elaborate, I mean there's a lot more to it than money. Health, friendships, lovers- and not just anyone- I mean solid kinds. And having passion & ambition. Money can't bring that. It may facilitate it, or facilitate the wrong kind of people in your life.
Case in point: I got stood up on that date today. Not exactly stood up, but her phone went to voicemail. I was with another girl (friend) this morning that I've dug for years, but it's clear she doesn't like me like that. Whether I'm a millionaire or dirt poor, wouldn't change her opinion, either. I'm not rich, I'm comfortable, but I'd trade 95% of my bank account for someone like that, & a long-term studio deal (that doesn't necessary pay well). I've done the whole 6 day a week 50+hr retail wages up to my mid 20s, so I'm not ignorant to that. I personally just see people with "money" around me, pretty miserable- not on the outside, or the shit they post on social media, but deep down.
That's my opinion on that, I'll shut up about it & get my ass to the gym
There's some truth to both sides of the coin. People who say money can't buy happiness are usually pretty well off. You're smarting right now from being stood up and friendzoned, but as you work out your aggression at the gym, you'll feel better. So in essence, money will have bought a relief from your problems.
In my own personal example, I'm in an extremely high stress situation that in not going to get into, but it's huge. I can't sleep at night, it's wrecking my days, and I'm suffering physical effects from the stress. $10k would basically solve the problem, so I'd be tempted to say "yes, money can buy happiness."
But the effects of that $10k may have consequences that will cause even more stress. It's a completely possible outcome. There's a chance the problem will only be alieviated temporarily and then I'll be back to the tum chewing, lying awake at night, etc... stress that I originally felt. I don't know. So money may not buy happiness. It might buy a forbearance, it might buy more problems. It might solve everything.
So I guess it's a crap shoot. It's just important to remember that no matter what their financial situation is, people have problems. Being rich may cure what currently ails you, but it may bring in a new tier of issues altogether.
That said, I'm with Mo- I'd give it a whirl lol.

weekly competitions are getting pretty intense and difficult to win.

When you're given $100 and it's not enough to do anything productive with or buy anything on your wishlist…Ugh.

I think it's a summer thing. Our scores would've won some of the competitions a few months ago. I saw that you started Another World, if you were having trouble, there's a youTUBE walkthrough on the SNES version- 28minutes, that helped a lot. That 1000g is pretty easy, & is a nice little game to support.
I admit you, me, Meta, and Heath whored ourselves to the gamerscore gods, with that (sixty second shooter) title. More like sixty seconds to 1000g. Somehow, Heath is owning everyone on the (infinite) setting.

With xbox.com getting the revamp launch next week to track xbox one games and achievements it will be interesting to see if jackson decides to invest in enhancing xba or not.
@sean I've stopped going for "high scores" once I hit the point to unlock the achievement and complete the game I died and deleted it off my hard drive. Summer is a drought for good games but seems like its going to have a ton of easy gs.

I don't know Jackson because I'm late to the XBA party, but if he needs a donation or something, I can contribute. Just saying. I can paypal. But I better get a damn badge out of it.
*edit* if he can add Miiverse posts so I don't have to screencap, that'd be nice too. Meta & I would appreciate it...

The other day I brought out a whole stack of games from the shelf. They were all of the games that I keep telling myself that I am going to get back to - eventually. My oldest picked out BF Bad Co. and he's actually having a great time with it. My youngest picked out Tenchu-Z, which I though he would hate - WRONG! He loves the game! Suddenly, it doesn't look that bad. Maybe I will play it again....

Mostly with one kid who had attention disorders and gets in the other kids nervesfor stealing hitting etc. this Isuzu second year on staff 9th overall at the same camp and it never gets any easier

I'm just taking a stab here, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say Jackson isn't going to switch the forum to HTML coding, or add it in, so people can post miiverse stuff...
But I'm no expert.
I don't think $ is the problem, we had donation drives in the past and always surpassed our goals, so if he needed money I think the donation link would pop back up. I'm guessing he's got the server cheap enough that ad revenue may pay for a big chunk of it.
I think it's a lack of interest, because Jackson has always been the guy who makes pages based on what he was currently into. Xba, gamercard creator, gamertag checker- those all came when he was into 360. Then he made some pages to find-- I wanna say law and order episodes?-- when he was into that. He's got some project with some other Brown students, and he's going to work at Square soon if he isn't there already, so he's just not interested in xbox any more. Over the years, xba has been the only one he has really maintained, the rest were basically created and discarded, but actually creating new content would only happen if he really really got back into gaming or had some huge incentive. I honestly don't know that much about him as a person, so no idea what would be incentive for him. Offhand I'd say maybe a challenge of some sort. Idk.
It's a good site, and it's had a good run, but I really think that if you want xba to be any more than a message board, a friendly community, and a place to occasionally read some decent reviews, you're better off finding a different site.
Of course this could all change at any time if the creator's interest spikes again and he decides to bring the site into the new gen.
Also- let's all start calling Jackson the creator. Can we make that a thing? Man that's creepy sounding!

Ok no worries, it's not that hard to screencap if I have a burning desire to post pixel art at 4am. So Jackson is basically this guy:

1. No. Suikoden II. (I doubt many of you can argue given how few copies were released in the states)
2. I think he's calling in tomorrow...
I've played it... The first ex mr kat got it when it came out (and yes, I'm that old).
I'm not going to argue, but I will disagree. As I said, there are too many games in too many subgenres to choose one as GOAT. Favorite, sure. But there just will never be one that everyone would agree on.
Everyone must agree with me...and if they don't ill just take random quotes out of context and pretend they did. Like the news, Church and Michael Bay does.

I didn't realize that all the Crimson Dragon XBOX One DLC is free. It adds like another 500g, so for Meta, Snapple, and whoever else has the game, there's no reason not to download the 2 DLC packs. Odd that it's free, that's nice of them.

Never played 2, but I played 3, 4, and 5. I'd really like to see them make an update for the series. Like they did with KH and Final Fantasy X.
Might have to "acquire" a copy of it to give it a try.
