I'll just wait for GTA V to hit PC and pick it up for $5 on steam.
And while you wait we'll all be playing together having fun

The only thing those games have in common is the open world format.
thats like saying bioshock, cod, and borderlands are all the same.
they are same genre ish, but completely different.
Ehhhh nah, they're closer than that. Idk about mafia but saints row was modeled after gta and there are some pretty similar bits at first. Either way, it depends on what you don't like. It's like saying "I don't like burnout, Mario kart or gran turismo so I am not in a hurry to play the new forza." Yes, for fans of the genre, there's a gigantic difference, but if you don't like racing games, that doesn't matter. If you don't like open world sandbox crime shooter games, you won't like gta v. I'm just not sure who doesn't like that. :/
Yeah but saints row 3 and 4 were almost nothing like gta now, but I do see your point.

Meh, GTA isn't worth full price to me.
(Unpopular opinions)
But I agree with you.. Fun game but I'd rather throw $60 elsewhere..

I love open world games (Red Dead, L.A. Noir, Saints Row, Mafia II, and such) but wasn't a big fan of GTA IV's storyline, that's all I'm saying.
I hated GTA IV's storyline, couldn't even finish the game. I loved GTA V's storyline though, played all the way through and finished it and am still going around just doing stupid shit for fun.

Gta iv's story and characters sucked balls. Well, everyone but snapple's balls. Snapple loved them. But yeah v is a lot better.

say an evil scientist has captured you. you wake up tied up to a surgical table and the scientist looks at you and says, "you're going to be part of my evil experiment."
he continues, "you may choose which procedure i will perform however, and your choices are mantis mouth, or lizard arms."
which do you choose?
live the rest of your life with the mouth of a praying mantis, snapping jaws of doom?
or
roam the lands with scaled arms of a random reptilian, freakish claws and all?
