Despite whatever "official" statement Bioware made about Mass Effect 3, I fully believe the indoctrination theory is fact. The seeds were planted in ME2, and you can't discount the evidence. From people more intelligent than press releases. Why not acknowledge it? Because of lawsuits. Unfortunately, I'm in that world. And acknowledging, opens up legal doors Bioware would rather shut. Despite this- they're the spiritual successor to Square (or more accurately, taking up their old torch), & still create stimulating discussions, among gamers, through their storytelling.

I am inclined to believe the indoctrination theory.
But this spiritual successor to Square? Couldn't be further from the truth. There will never be a company like Square to put out games likes Square. Just because a game is an RPG doesnt mean it can be a JRPG or even be in the same ballpark. I LOVE the first Mass Effect, i love the RPG elements of the first ME, but it's Western and doesnt even have the same feel as games from old school Square.
Don't get me wrong, Bioware is a pretty awesome company. Look at KotOR, great couple of games right there. and on top of that they get to release yet another Star Wars game i have money on will be the bomb. But i still cannot compare the 2 companies, they're like apples and oranges.

I didn't forget. I was qft-ing. But since that's what I was doing, putting qft would have been redundant.

Does anyone still have DoA4? (and kind enough to help me get the streak achievements?)

Square and Bioware are/were very different companies, I was just speaking from personal experience, my PC gaming experiences leaned toward companies like Chris Roberts' old Origin, and LucasArts. In my pre-teens and teens, I knew I would get a good RPG and a good story, through Square, like FFIV, FFVI, Tactics, Parasite Eve, games like that. Bioware didn't personally show up on my radar, until KOTOR for Xbox. Now I look to Bioware like I used to look to Square. Purely from a Japanese sense, I guess Atlus has become the new "Square".
