So my best friend murdered someone then killed himself 2 nights ago. It's been really hard coping with this. I'm not quite sure why this happened, this is nowhere near his character. i can only assume he was on some sort of drug, he was quite the individual who enjoyed snorting pills but he really had mellowed out since i was rooming with him and 2 other guys about a year ago when we would party all night, every night. What hurts me even more is than not a night before this happened i was chatting with him, telling him i could get him a nice job here that paid well and we could be roomies, just like old times. He said he was starting school soon but he was definitely interested and would let me know the following week. Now he's gone. I miss that dude something fierce.

I had something similar happen a few years back. It's not healthy to try to piece together what happened or what he was thinking. Some people hide or bottle up their pain and basically wear a mask 24-7. It's best to focus on the good times and keep his memory alive. Just my opinion.

On another note, my bloodwork to make sure there's nothing wrong with me came back last week, healthy as one can be with the exception of an abnormal liver.
I'm scheduled to have a Liver Ultrasound and an MRI tomorrow to determine if I could possibly (most likely not) have a tumor in my brain that could be linked to my Vertigo.
I don't think I'm claustrophobic but if any of you guys have any experience to share to calm my nerves that would be appreciated!

Chanid Insanity, sorry for your loss. We all have our own demons. As time goes on, I think the public will understand how videogames help cope with our own personal issues. Let out aggression, find accomplishment. Hell, even achievements are like a Pavolian dog smiling with a bell. Gaming has helped me a lot- & if there's ever money in charity I can sway- it'd be with our pastime.
Greatest gaming lineup ever... well I agree on PS1. It was the first non-Nintendo console I ever owned, like an eye-opener. Because the franchises were elsewhere. But you cannot ignore what the NES 8-bit library, brought to the table. This entire industry, was a no-sell. And there's a reason Nintendo is still in business. Capcom. Konami. Square. Enix. Techmo. Atlus. HAL. Koei. Rare. The list goes on. And they were all absent, during the Atari age. When Nintendo went for it-- these companies began in earnest. And that cannot be discounted, in any sense.
