Dez Bryant is a worthless excuse for a man. He was arrested Monday for beating his mother.
People like him need to go to jail for a long time, but since he's in the NFL he'll get off easy...sucks that athletes basically do whatever they want.
People like this is why I insert my foot in my mouth because I can go on about athletes getting arrested. Might want to do some reading before you speak.

I think the NCAA went a little overboard with the fines they hit PSU with, none of the shit that happened had anything to do with the football team winning games, yet they're going to erase all the wins from 1998? Fucking hell.

the ncaa is a joke,SMU paid players to come to them in what the 70's and 80's and they get the death penalty, key figures in penn state allow a pedophile to run loose for 13 or so years and they just get fined, have wins taken away and loose scholarships and cant play in bowl games and lets be honest.they didnt have a good enough team to get into a bowl game that means anything.

the sanctions against PSU are like 1000 x worse then SMU death penalty.
you also forgot the fact players can transfer without restrictions (like sitting out) or not even player and keep their scholarships, + paying 60 million.
death penalty imo isn't that bad compared to this.

so if those players leave there is a chance that penn states football program dies.60 million to them is nothing because they will still make money,4 years losing 40 players wont mean anything because players will still go there.maybe not the best coming out of high school but they will still get players but if they get the death penalty none of that matters because its dead.

The death penalty would have effected all of their sports programs, not just football. It wouldn't have been fair for all their student athletes to suffer because the football program was run by a bunch of scum bags. Apparently the Big Ten may have some sanctions to lay down as well. Possibly a TV ban and that would definitely hurt the football program more. That would take away practically the only remaining reason players would still wanna go there.

cant they not just kill the football program and leave the rest of the sports alone?

no, plus that isn't fair to the football players who play there and had nothing to do with it. what you're suggesting effects the students more than what NCAA did, it wasn't sjtudents taking bribes like SMU (which is why they got the death penalty) it was coaching and higher ups looking away when something serious was happening. You take it out on them, not the students.
this also set their football program back about 10 years.

All the other sports programs at any university rely on the money that football and to a lesser extent basketball bring in.
