I hope the achievements are different than the 360 version and take a little longer.
Why in the world would you want the achievements to take longer? That's the worst thing that I've read today.
lmao +1
i'm not that big a fan of minecraft, so an easy 1k for 5 dollars interests me.

I don't want to do the same shit again (achievement wise) and they added so much more to do that I'll never experience unless an achievement is involved (kind of pathetic). I had fun playing the game before and incentive to do other things would be nice.

They don't give a rat's ass about achievements. If you want to put 59,214,079 hours into that pile of shit, fine, but I just want my points with as little actual playing as possible. I hope the list is exactly the same because I have worlds all set up to knock that shit out lickety-split.

Bullshit. He doesn't fucking care. He would and does play Minecraft, 1) After he had all of the achievements, and B) on PC where there are no achievements to begin with. Our kids will play that stupid game regardless of an achievement list.
The bottom line is that Dee-bo is saying that if there is no achievements left, he will not continue to play the game, in spite of the fact that he still wants to play the game. I'm saying don't wish a lengthy and difficult achievement list on everyone else because he can't be bothered to play games for fun.

True, but he also begged me to let him play it for me to earn the achievements because he missed actually being awarded something.
I've said the exact same thing about Skyrim, oblivion, fallout- every other game I love but don't want to play without getting achievements.
If you hate the game, why not just not play it instead of wanting a game that millions of people enjoy to have its achievements dumbed down for you? I mean- you can say that about every game "shit, I hope all 1000 points pop just from starting a game," but most people enjoy playing through and earning achievements. It just seems like a really assy point of view- and if you don't have fun collecting achievements, what the dick are you doing on Xbox anyway?

If they enjoy the game the difficulty of achievements becomes largely irrelevant since they are going to play the game anyway.

I only downloaded Minecraft for when my cousin's boy comes over. I only had the demo for the longest time but then went ahead and purchased it the last time I saw it for half off. I don't mind him earning the cheevos for my profile. So for anyone on my friends list, if you see me playing it, it's not me. It was funny the last time he was over though. He kept wanting to play online with someone but nobody on my FL was playing it and he was like "this game is boring playing by yourself."

And I am disagreeing with this based on my personal experience. I love the elder scrolls games but once I complete them I'm done, regardless of whether there is more to be done or not. Conversely, I end up playing games that suck way longer than I want to because of achievements.
Most people who play games and find achievements are irrelevant don't play xbox. Xbox games should be set up so there is a payoff for playing.
The argument Evol is making, though, didn't really come off the way he meant it to- he was saying he felt like the old one had achievements that required a long playthrough, it wasn't an easy 4 hr or less game, so that's why he's against it.
I still say that a game with hundreds of hours of gameplay should have achievements for more than just what you can do in the first 10 hours.
As far as minecraft, I can't imagine they will have the same achievement list because they are including more things in the 360 version, and they are going from an arcade game to full 1000 points.
@irish, I rarely play it, usually when it says I'm playing it, it's Matty. But if your cousins kid ever sees Fuzzyroxas online and playing, he should jump right in- fuzzy loves meeting people and bonding over minecraft!

I think that's more achievements have shaped how you play games then anything. That's happened to me as well for some games, but for games I enjoy the most it doesn't matter whether I'm still unlocking them or not so easy gs would be a bonus.
