Take advantage of GameStop's 7 day return policy. I've gotten probably 50,000 gamerscore buying/returning games.

I feel like quoting Red Letter Media... you don't understand, "but your brain does". FF7... you SEE Barrett with Marlene, you SEE the Section 7 Slums. Then you see Shinra blow it the **** up. That's why you care. Sazh and his son, whatever they were going for... you don't get his backstory until 1/2 way in. (sigh)
Growing Up: Top 5 companies
1) Square
2) Nintendo
3) Blizzard
4) Capcom
5) Konami
Now:
1) Bioware
2) Bethesda
3) Ubisoft
4) Blizzard
5) Square-Enix
The stories Square used to tell... it's like Marvel/DC gold mines for feature films, today. Looking forward to the turning tide. Until then... glimpses of past greatness, in pixels and low-res polygons...
I hope you are referring to the eidos side of square enix, bc square enix hasn't put out anything of note really.

Yes, I meant the Square-Enix distribution bubble as a whole. Deus Ex Human Revolution was frankly in my top10 RPGs in the 360 generation. They should be focusing more resources on projects like that, and an official sequel was recently announced. Tomb Raider and (to a lesser extent) Hitman Absolution were also pretty enjoyable. I'm also a bit weird that I enjoyed FFXIII-2 a lot more than I thought I would.
Hitman Absolution is the free game from now until the 15th, so anyone that hasn't played it should. The (build your own mission) creator with their online community, was enjoyable, as well.
*edit* Sleeping Dogs, as well. Terrific game.

Yeah Square's best stuff last gen was done by it's subsidiary companies. Which still counts I guess. As much as you should give Disney credit for Pixar.

if you're going by that then it's not Bioware it's EA, as they have put out Dragon Age, Dead Space, Mass Effect, etc.
jusy saying.

Yeah I guess. I'm holding false hope when the reality is their lineup are things like Lightning Play Dressup Su-pa Kawaii Extreme, and FF All The Bravest Hands In Your Wallet. But I think they realize how much they suck, and are trying to change... at least that's what they're putting out there in recent interviews. Bravely Default is suppose to be a step in the right direction- I don't know if Square-Enix produced it in house.

Silicon Studio did bravely default.
And it is fantastic.
