Well all you do is go to Camp McCarran and talk to Sergeant Bitter-Root. I found him in one of the tents sleeping. Ask him about his name and than there is an option for a Speech 30 attempt. You can keep saying, "Bitter-Root. You have an unusual name." and each time you say it you can do the speech attempt which at 30 speech you always pass it. Easy way to do it is to say that than do the speech attempt than ask to talk about something else and rinse and repeat. Easy way for the achievement.
For the life of me I can't find him there. Do I have to progress to a certain point for him to show up?

The glitch doesn't work anymore anyway. They fixed it after the patch, I went to try it and it didn't work.

So clear your cache and do it offline until you have 49/50.

I actually have ONLY played it offline, never been online with it and never downloaded any patches for it.

Just started my hardcore playthrough to get the hardcore achievement and the 10,000 unarmed damage achievement.
I can't believe sleeping doesn't heal you in hardcore. If anything it shouldn't heal you in unhardcore and should in hardcore!

good luck dude, at least you know you can lower the difficulty to very easy ><.

It's still super easy. It's just stupid how easy you get crippled. I plan on doing an xp glitch to get to level 30 so I can just power through this playthrough. Already got to 30 legit once. Don't need to do it again. Just want to power through and finish these last two achievements so I can loan the game to a friend.

ya its easy, but I had a really hard time on the last mission, all my bots went down hella quick so it was me vs like the whole legion army lol.

Started my hardcore playthrough this morning and just popped the 100gs achievement! My total game time was 4 hours 30 minutes 
(if anyone wants my tips on how to power through a playthrough just for the hardcore achievement, let me know and I can post it here). Tehee! Now to cause 10,000 unarmed damage and I'm doneeeee, 1000gs, yay!
