Netflix - WTF??

I just got an email from Netflix -

We are separating unlimited DVDs by mail and unlimited streaming into two separate plans to better reflect the costs of each. Now our members have a choice: a streaming only plan, a DVD only plan, or both.

Your current $9.99 a month membership for unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs will be split into 2 distinct plans:

Plan 1: Unlimited Streaming (no DVDs) for $7.99 a month
Plan 2: Unlimited DVDs, 1 out at-a-time (no streaming) for $7.99 a month

Your price for getting both of these plans will be $15.98 a month ($7.99 + $7.99). You don't need to do anything to continue your memberships for both unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs.

These prices will start for charges on or after September 1, 2011.

You can easily change or cancel your unlimited streaming plan, unlimited DVD plan, or both, by going to the Plan Change page in Your Account.

Honestly, for that price they should say screw the mailing out and make everything they have instant download anyways. I'm tired of waiting for Freaks and Geeks to become instant. I'm also tired of having to wait for "Redbox exclusives" to end so I can Netflix them.

I haven't seen this email sent to me.... yet. But I dont give a fuck. Netflix is a good service and im keeping it either way. But I agree with MizTian Cage.... if they are gonna increase the charge then just make everything instant.

Yeah, I haven't got any such email yet either and agree with you guys about offering everything instant. What pisses me off is when they only offer some movies instantly for a certain amount of time. I had to clear over 70 titles of my instant queue that were no longer available to stream. O_o

Kinda blows. Luckily, I don't pay for any type of Netflix. Brie pays for it, and I'm moving out of here anyway, so if she decides to keep the streaming, I guess it's still free, and if not, I'll just find someone else to bum off of.

I got my email advising of the new price change that is some how supposed to benefit me. It's disgusting and I am really disappointed with Netflix. My real big issue is that they don't really offer a lot of quality t.v. shows or movies on there streaming service. On occassion you may find a movie or two, but that's about it.

In the past few months, I've found myself spending a lot more time browsing through torrent sights. There is even a program out there that is so easy to use and has the capability of streaming right to your xbox, ps, or android phone.

As of Sept. 1st, I will be canceling my 9 year membership to Netflix.

I looked Netflix up in wikipedia and after seeing the numbers, I doubt that Netflix will miss me.
