Yes it was Ser Mandon Moore of the Gold Cloaks that attacked Tyrion and Pod his squire that saves him. That's exactly how it happened in the novel except they ended up fighting on a mass of wrecked ships on the river late in the battle and that's where Moore attacks Tyrion after pulling him out of the river.
