I tried applying for the beta and it said I wasn't allowed. I put in my real birthdate, 17 now 18 next month. I then tried fake birthdate so that it was 22 and then my mothers who is 55. All said not allowed. I even tried the Ps3 version. I guess they only want people 14 and under, seeing as that is their true fanbase.
Wait what there's a beta?
On topic though: This is a horrible idea but CoD generates so much money and so many people are willing to shell out the extra $10 for 3 more maps without even thinking about it if they do this a bet it will be a success. Afterall many CoD players only play CoD.
Yep. They listed it through twitter.

Thats odd. I keep getting a "We're sorry. You have not met the minimum requirements". Yet they don't mention anywhere about what they are.
EDIT: Unless, does anyone know if this is a web based program? If it is it might be due to that fact that I use a Mac, and thus the program wouldn't work properly. Weird

I actually just submitted my request and it accepted it, I'm 25. So I think there fanbase is just a little bit more widespread then 14 and under

It accepted mine too....age 19.
I don't think it has a reason to its acceptance/denial of people.

Luckily you won't need an elite sub to play any of the COD's online, the access to extra maps for a monthly fee is pure bullshit though.
If we allow this to slide, then what is next? It's not call of warcraft... ffs.
This!!!
Worded perfectly.

Also I just did the beta test thing. Someone mentioned problems, it could be a mac thing. Anyways, as far as the age might be concerned, I'm 32 and it worked just fine.

If this is the only way to get maps, I will never own another map pack in COD again.
I may have to cancel my pre-order as well.........

Agreed. PC games have monthly fees, but they also cost on average $10-$20 less than the same game on a console.

I'm one of the few people for this. I've never quite understood why people get so furious over an option. Like Rock Band DLC, if you like it awesome. If you don't not a big deal and your not forced to buy it. If you HAD to pay to use it, then yea sure I might be mad. I love that feature with the mini social network so you can play with like minded people. I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to subscribe or not yet. I'm gonna wait to see what stuff you get if you do, but I do love having the option and hopefully more game companies with do it as well.

Dude this is like Rockband making the best songs (already on the disc) cost a monthly fee to have access to... how are you happy with that? I realize the super-rich have less discretion when spending but no one likes to get fucked over.. and that's exactly what this is.
