as far as i know you can do the C'ieth stone missions whenever you want. there's a handful that you'll have to do regardless to progress the story during chapter 11 however, but i think you can go back to them afterwards if you don't 5 star them right away

I have a question regarding the Growth Egg. I know you have to have a Chocobo to get to where Mission 55 is.
I have looked up stuff online and found that the required missions are 1, 2, 3, 5, 12 and then 14 for the Chocobo, and then you can do 55 whenever. Is this true?
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilerI also read that you have to have defeated Barthandelus at the end of Ch 11 I think it was, in Oerba. Is there any way to get past Ch 11 without fighting him? I swear I don't remember fighting him back there, but I have already beaten the rest of the game so..?

Heh, i'm in endgame. I already beat everything, opened up Crystarium lvl 10 yadda yadda, that's why I'm going back now. The ending turned out to be really good, I was impressed.
What sucks is that before I knew you had to beat it to fully open the Crystarium, I had used the save I made right when the portal opened to go back and start doing the Cie'th Stone missions in order. I made it up to 12, as well as finishing the last one in Teijin's Tower, before I read that you had to beat the game to open the Crystarium. So I made a new save and re-opened the old one and beat them game, then realized you had to "load" the save you beat it with. Argh!
Anyway, whatever I read must have accidentally put his name instead of the correct one for the end of Ch 11. I'm just glad I didn't miss anything big like that.

No, I typed the other guy on purpose. I read somewhere that you had to have beaten B in Ch 11 to be able to get to mission 14 or something, that was why I panicked a little bit and asked here, I didn't recall fighting him in 11.
And yeah, the Ch 12 opening is awesome. Pretty much the entire rest of the game, from Ch 11, blew my mind and made the first 25 hours worthwhile

the setting of chapter 12 is amazing too. i finally see where Lightning was in all those teaser trailers they showed wayy before the game came out xD
now if only these Crystariums didn't cost an arm and a leg for each segment xD the "hefty" CP i gained from the chapter 11 endboss was spent on like 4-5 segments and was down to 0 already lol.

oh, i'm totally fine with grinding lol. it's just that right now i'm irritated that to grind, i actually have to pay attention to what's going on <-- not my definition of grinding lol

2-3 is better than majority of the game xDD
chapter 12 looks so promising, i can't wait until the next time i'm able to sit down and play it again lol

for me, i don't think i can stand playing through one game without switching off to something else once in a while to keep things from getting too dull. between my FFXIII sessions, i:
-play Bioshock 2 on the side
-play a few rounds in Modern Warfare 2
-practice up in Blazblue now and then (MORE often now lol)
-play a few songs in Guitar Hero World Tour (not as often right now)
-grind in DW: Gundam 2 (not as often right now)
