yeah in RPGs i save every chance I get too
i don't! lol. i still haven't gotten over that "screw it i'm good" mentallity that kicks in once in a while when i grind levels in RPGs -_- wasted a lot of good hours because i got careless hahaha

It doesn't even matter cause if you do die in FFXIII a retry option pops up.
But I'm saving at every save spot too

Whee the game is great so far. Right when I thought I knew what I was getting into for the next few hours, it got a little twisty and snuck in some new mechanics.
The combat just keeps getting better as the game adds stuff. I am seriously impressed with this battle system... this might be the first game in years where I'll actually sit down and pump 80+ hours into it.
And the way they did the Eidolons is pretty damn cool, I am pleasantly surprised by that despite the high absurdity factor!

haha i cannot wait to get to where most of you are <_< i wanna see how Paradigm Shifts works and see the Eidolons in action!
and btw, a little fun fact that i don't think the game teaches you:
in battle, if you queue two attack commands, when your ATB bar fills up to at least one bar, you can press "Y" and it will execute your first attack command instantly without having to wait for the second to fill up. once that attack is used, the ATB bar only drains off for that one attack and will continue to charge again. this is useful if the enemy only has a sliver of life left and you want to end the battle quick, just fill up one attack queue on the ATB, press Y, and use that one hit to finish the enemy off. also, after you input your commands into the queue and select your target(s), you can press "B" to cancel it if you change your mind...

yeah iKhaotic it explains that like halfway through chapter 3. lol i wish i had known that earlier cause it wouldve saved SO much time haha.
