Got my completion for this game yesterday. For the 100% you get a garment that is not worth it. It gives you a Holy Shield lvl 1. Which is just an upgraded version of Heavy Shield. I am so happy that's over. It was nice being able to skip every cut scene but every time Hope said something I wanted to pierce my own eardrums. I ended up putting the game on mute and listening to music while I played.

Did anyone actually like Hope? How did he become the second most prominent character in the series behind Lightning? I even see Lightning + Hope fanart about them being a couple all the time.

I like his whole "Fallen Hero" dynamic. He's so jaded in the first game trying to be superman (with that warped self riotousness) and gradually fell into an abyss of helplessness and apathy demonstrating how unrealistic super heroes are. You can't save everyone. At first you think he is a cookie cutter good guy but then you realize he is quite possibly the most flawed out of the cast. That in itself gave him more depth then Lightning.
Serah was just enjoyable for me since she is so opposite from Lightning whom I found bland and uninspired. Her whole Femme-Cloud persona is not appealing.

Yes. Like he's trying to be a hero in a group of people who don't want a hero, and he just can't figure out what his place should be.
I agree Serah is more appealing than lightning, but compared to other ff damsels in distress who aren't actually in distress, she falls short. They tried to make a Yuna out of her. But she's no Yuna.

I'm not loving the fact that the subtitles are tiny and in a corner of the screen I'm not looking at. I don't play with sound on because I play right next to the kids' tv and don't want that mess. So I rely on subtitles. But when I'm playing this game, I either have to miss conversation or read it and waste in-game time.

Actually I prefer the professional stuff. "Yuna does Spira", "Blitzballing pt 1", and my personal favorite "Yuna learns how to whistle".
