I started my playthrough on easy. I heard that Normal was too hard, plus there aren't any achievements for playing it higher difficulty. Are you playing the game with a guide? If not I highly recommend this one:

He has over 8.8 MILLION HP (on easy). I got very lucky when I beat him on my 3rd try. If you don't do enough damage in time he leaves and you have to wait 3 hours to fight him again. Aeronite
He's not a story related boss, just a bonus one, but you have to fight him for Desert Dragonslayer achievement, which also unlocks Harbinger of Death achievement if you haven't gotten that one yet, and you should get Fatal Impact (Deal over 100,000 damage in a single attack).

I'm sitting at 63 side quest done and 65 Canvas of Prayers done. I'm on Day 11 and have no side quests left except 1 that can be completed on first play through. I can either sleep till the final day or go wipe out all monsters. I kind of want to get it over at this point, but now that I don't have to worry about time I want to enjoy the game now by killing things.

Just finished the game and now I'm on the credits. I honestly liked the battle system, but that's about it. I was happy to see this game end. The final boss is a joke, literally took me 1 1/2 mins to kill. The way you "level" was stupid as shit and having that damn time constraint made it impossible to finish the game without a guide.
From someone who loves Final Fantasy, I'd give this game a 3/10. This does not feel like a Final Fantasy game to me.

I think it's crazy that that's normal. There's easy, which presents almost no challenge, then normal that's really pretty tough. It's like how they either have 20 hours of tutorials or don't tell you what to do.

It's almost as if the team that made each game were completely different developers. No synergy at all with the story or game-play. I guess you could argue it kept it from getting predictable.
