I see all the FUCK EA's and such but what about FUCK GAMESTOP. EA is only doing this because of Gamestop making millions of dollars off of developers work and them not having to do anything but give you 20 bucks for a 60 dollar game than reshelving it for 54 bucks. GO EA!! Its about time. I don't buy used, nor do I use gamefly. Don't think that EA is trying to be money monglers when the real culperate is the fuckers that are reselling the games 4 times and picking up every last dime. FUCK GAMESTOP

Isn't this what I pay for xbox live for? Not that I play EA sports games but I could see this happening to other games as well.

Pfft I'll still buy EA over 2K games, even though only games ill buy that arent for achievements are the NHL games. And they aren't really making you pay, they are making people who don't buy there games new and are ripping off the company. They lose lots of money and soon more game makers are probably going to star doing this as well

Granted Gamestop is a theivery Corporation,
EA has always been known as money grubbing mother fuckers
remember when games were $39, then $49, now $59,
EA and SONY were the main supporters of raising software prices.

Also you don't pay for XBL to play on EA Servers! Come on people! You pay for XBL for the Social Networking. Your friends list, achievements, DLC, movies, XBLA, music, messaging, Bio, motto, ect ect. I know some of these things are free for silver members, but understand that you don't pay 60 bucks a year to MICROSOFT to play on EA Servers. That Xbox Live fee doesn't go to EA or any other developer to give you good servers and good online game play. Your foolish if you think otherwise.
Thats why I agree with this so much! When you buy a game used and play it online your pretty much playing on these developers servers and there online service for free.
Thats another thing that pisses me off! I buy all my EA sports games new. It drives me nuts when people pick up there game used and complain about the SERVERS!!!!! Your not helping the problem dummy! You assisting IT!!!!!! Buy your games new if you want to play online! Or you can pay 10 bucks to play online with a used game. I hope this is a trend that catches on! GO INDUSTRY!!

THEN WHATS THE POINT OF PAYING FOR FUCKING XBOX LIVE!
Holy shit gaming is taking a HUGE step in the wrong direction.
Imagine if you had to pay an additional $10 for EVERY game you play online, do the math. $50 + $10 +$10 + $10 +$10 ..................
But what are the PS3 people thinking? Their pitch saying that "ohhhhh our online is free! " Well guess what? that isnt the case anymore.
USED GAMES FTW!

Most games I play online I buy new. There is not stopping this from happening. More and more dev's are going to be doing this. Blame Gamestop. They've raped dev's long enough of their hard work and talent's.
Just buy the game new. Thats about all the bottom line says. Or you can pay 6 dollars less for a used new title and give up an additional 10 bucks. I think new would be cheaper. Just my thought though.

I've been reading your posts about this subject, and I while I can understand your support for the Game Developers and not wanting them to lose out, I don't understand why you are so gung ho about it?
BUY NEW! BUY NEW! BUY NEW!
That might be easy for you to say, but what about all of us who simply cannot afford to buy a new game?!? In today's economic climate it is a potentially hazardous decision in buying a new video game. Many games have been touted as perfect long in advance of their release, only to flop after launch day.
Instead of coming up with a proactive solution, say Applying intellectual property claims to games, forcing gamestop to give game devs a share of the profits, they came up with a punishing solution that, might not hurt people like YOU who can afford to buy every game brand new, it does hurt the MAJORITY of people, who cannot afford to do so, even if they WANT to.
and like many of us who want to play a game for just a short while, or just to try it, renting a game is a great solution, but the new online pass program hinders renter's abilities to fully judge a game and make the decision of whether or not they want to purchase it.
besides, most of this launch day dlc that most companies will be charging for is content cut from the game. Then they charge you to play content that is rightfully yours. and reports that are contrary to this fact should be taken with a grain of salt. considering that after all, while this may be fun and games for us, it is a BUSINESS for everyone else. besides, most game news/information sources are owned by a game publisher.
what I'm getting at is...
It's okay to want game devs to do succeed and to do well and it's another thing to want PUBLSIHERS to reap the profits. Which is exactly what you are all for. You think these devs are getting any of this money? they'll see maybe a fraction of what the publishers will receive.
