So I've beaten Dead Space 2 twice, and im about to start my Zealot run, but I have a question for you guys. Has anyone even attempted the Hard-core difficulty? because it sounds brutal but I've heard if you can finish it you get amazing "foam" gun the essentialy one-shots everything. So I was thinking that would be the ideal way to go through Zaelot real fast.

I'm about halfway into my Zealot run through, then I'll hopefully only need Hardcore for my 1K.
But a question on Hardcore, does anyone know how difficult it is? Is it like Zealot with only three saves, or more along the lines of normal or survivalist? Because if it was Zealot with 3 saves it would be extremely frustrating, but I feel it wouldn't be as bad if it was like survivalist.

Ive heard it is you get hit, you die. But im not sure, I'd like to hear from someone that has went through it.
It would be so frustrating if you lose 3 hours of progress just because some random necromorph hits you from behind.

That would be fucking ridiculous. If that's how it is, I won't be playing Hardcore. Zealot is annoying on its own, I'm struggling like crazy and finish each battle with practically 2 shots left with each gun.

So I started playing hardcore yesterday, it is definitely not you get hit you die. I'd say it is on par with Zealot though. Obviously the big thing though is not just the 3 saves thing, but you also don't get to bring any of your new game+ weapons and upgrades into hardcore.
Anyway, I played hardcore got about 2 hours in, I was really trying not to save until around chapter 7 or 8, and I let one of those kamikaze necromorphs get a little too close before I shot it and I died. The game then sent me all the way back to the beginning. I lost 2 hours for nothing...
I'm not sure if this is possible considering how hard the game gets toward the end.

Obviously it's possible if 100's of people have already done it, it may just not be possible for you.

I understand that, I was saying for me I don't think it's possible. Sorry for not being specific.

I didn't even bother with that achievement. I got 900/1000, didn't bother with hardcore or zealot. Don't wanna even attempt them even though I know I could do it if I tried long enough, lol.

The problem for me is I get really frustrated easily, and I could easily see me throwing my 360 out of the window after dying and losing hours of gameplay on hardcore. I care about my 360 too much to risk it.

Yea I've gone through about 40 controllers since I started playing 360 a few years ago, lol.

Yeah CIA I know what you mean. I'm probably not going to attempt it if it's as hard as Zealot. I'm struggling with Zealot so I can't imagine I'd be able to do Hardcore without going crazy.
Some advice for you though, if you wait until Chapter 7, when you have to switch discs, that saves your game but doesn't count as one of your 3 saves. So technically you get 4 saves, you just have to make it all the way to chapter 7 first lol.

That's actually good to know, I can probably make it to 7. I may have to give it another shot sometime.

From what all I have read, Hardcore is Survivalist difficulty in terms of necromorph health and damage, but Zealot in terms of how much ammo and health you will find.
Also, a lot of people recommend a save in chapter 4, then disc swap checkpoint, then ch 9 then 11.
Others say disc swap, then 8, 11, and 14.

I'd say use the disc swap for the first save since the end of that game gets rough, I'd think you would want to use some saves for that.
