ok, just beat the game, im kinda scratching my head about the end
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilerthe part where booker goes through the last door after he says he's going to kill comstock as a baby, why the hell did liz drown him after he said he was both?
I'm going to explain the ending in a spoiler. Don't click it if you don't want the ending ruined. I WARNED YOU.
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilerThey drowned Booker because he was both Booker DeWitt and Comstock, one Dewitt in one timeline accepted his baptism and became the religious fanatic Comstock, the other denied the baptism and became the Booker you play as. So to close the circle completely to make sure none of this ever happened they had to drown him.
For a full explanation of this lame plot twist, see the movie...

Do you keep the telescopes and voxophones you found on your second playthru?

other than that i though the game was epic, going to go through it again to choose some different paths and grab some achievements, wow that was a hell of a way to wrap up the series on this gen of consoles, i can't wait to see where they go from here.
@tig, you really need to buy it, this one is better than the first, and the end is twice as shocking, i couldn't belive how they decide to use the "tears" in the story.
also any idea where they go with the DLC? im kinda wondering as to where they head from the end of the game.
Yeah, like I said, I already have it but I don't want to open up my CE. I've just been itching to play through this story. The first Bioshock is my favorite game ever. I can wait til I get another copy though. I really wanna savor my every minute I put into this.

How was it lame?
I hate
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoiler as the main plot twist in anything. I didn't like the ending of
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoiler for the same reason. Both are awesome as a complete package but I could do without the endings. It just always felt like a lazy resolution to the plot.

Telescopes and voxophones yes, however if you hit NEW GAME I'm not sure, the way I did it was I went to chapter select and started back at the very beginning, paused it and changed it down to easy, then played back up to where I missed my last telescope and voxophone which was chapter 6ish and popped both achieves. If you missed the Infusion achievement though you have to replay the WHOLE game again until you get all 24 (19 if you have the season pass ahead of time).

I'm not sure why anyone would like a ending that effectively
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilererases all the event's of the entire game or movie from ever happening.
but the after credits scene does leave us with more of a warm fuzzy feeling then ME3 ever did. (Just watched it on youtube.) I hate credits.

I just finished my first playthrough and was thoroughly impressed. Now I can't wait to do 1999 and wrap up all random achievements. Best game I have played in a very long time. Developers should take notice.

In terms of the story
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilerIt just made sense, no matter what Booker did there would always be a reality caused by his actions that would lead to Elizabeth suffering and causing the prophecy to come true. No matter what Booker had to die (or at least appear to we'll wait to see what the DLC has in store) in this case Booker is the tragic hero, in where in order to set things right he must die.
It's fitting to me, I don't see how else they could have wrapped it up.
The first thing that popped in my mind at the end was
Spoiler: Click here to toggle spoilerDonnie Darko/Looper, Donnie Darko is probably my favorite movie ever so I was like well that was a trip when you add time travel into the story it's gonna have a somewhat predictable ending just because there's only a few ways it can go...
