Finally got the penalty shot on all star achievement on NHL 2K6 for my 30th completed retail game.

I got the first 4 achievements and was sitting at 750pts. since 4-7-07 since the last one was glitched for a long time!

1 year and 8 months later...

dude no way! i need this 1 too for about as long as you've needed it! goozex sent me this game about a month ago and i don't even no why! free games 4 me? i never even sent anybody anything..... :baffled:

let me know what your trick/tip was in doing it.....if you want to reveal the secret that is.

I played against Denmark as the Red Wings and put it on 20 min. periods. (The achievement pops when you get it, not at the end of the game!) Before the game, I put the AI sliders down to 0 and the player sliders all the way up to 100 and I turned up all of the penalties. (also make sure that you are on all-star difficulty!)

I don't know how well you know the rules of hockey, but to get a penalty shot, you have to be fouled while you are on a breakaway.

If you win the faceoff, it is really easy to breakaway towards the goal. As you beat their defensemen back, push and hold the X button to reel back for a shot. I tried to start my shot at the blue line if possible, so I didn't carry into the goaltender. As the defensemen catch up, they will start hacking at you. It may take a few tries, but eventually they will foul you. All you have to do is make the penalty shot.

If you are having trouble getting a breakaway, start fouling them. If the computer has a powerplay or two man advantage, they will stay in the offensive zone. Then you can take the puck behind your own net, drawing them into your half of the ice and then come out and shred their defense and you're almost guaranteed to get fouled.

i didnt think it was too bad except the mini games sucked horribly otherwise without the mini games i found it sorta fun. If you're looking to waffle this game you prolly wanna use some kind of guide to help you figure out which missions have achievements linked to them and which missions have charms in them since you can't do missions over once you have completed them, which means playing the game all over again to get back to that mission.
