Me and my mom just exchanged ours. She got me Spider-Man Web of Shadows and $50 and I got her a heated pillow. I think I was out-done. But I'm going with my dad in about 5 minutes for his side of the family. I'll be sure to report back here when I'm done

It still won't be NEARLY enough, if you ask them.
you know, if i had my way, my children would get one gift each.
christmas should be more about spending time with your family, rather than who spends what on who. and i'm not being cheap, lol. i just think that holidays have become so commercialized it's not even funny.
when i was a child my mom and dad said "you get 200 bucks for x-mas. what do you want?" i mean what the hell? hahaha. how is that meaningful?
sure, i got a shit load of SNES games and loved every minute of it, but as an adult i really can't imagine how x-mas has come to this.

i can imagine why, everyone is a little too materialistic now adays. dont get me wrong i love technology and buying new stuff. but on christmas its the only time i get to see my entire family in one place, and beleive me fitting 48 or so people into one house is no easy task lol

I'm just trying to teach them some sort of social responsibility. When they're older, they'll have to buy a toy out of their christmas money to wrap and donate to toys for tots. There are so many kids who have nothing, and mine are so fortunate to have everything they need. So while I get them... A LOT... I want them to think about others at this time of year. My mom thought it was weird at first, considering they get the same number of gifts that they always would, but they're thinking of other people, and in their minds, they're giving up some gifts for other people to get them. Once they accept that, they'll be more generous with actual TANGIBLE things as well.
thats a concept wealthy people should introduce to their children. Iv always gotten lots of gits, but thats cus i have a big family. but most of the time i end up returning them, because i knw the gifts will end up in the back corner of my collection dust.
