Fallout 4... Real or Myth?

For Fallout fans, the wait for any word on Fallout 4 has seemed like an eternity. Regardless of your opinion on the FO3 vs NV debate, Fallout 3 ended crying out for a sequel- a sequel that wasn't delivered... Until now- maybe?

The website http://thesurvivor2299.com has popped up, registered to Zenimax, the parent company for Bethesda, and brings more questions than it delivers answers for. The page is just a countdown timer- counting down until December 11, 2013. While this seems like a possible teaser for a game reveal, IGN (the most reputable news source for gamers) has questioned its validity. Apparently, there are inconsistencies between the way this site was hosted and the DNS servers of the survivor 2299 page and Zenimax's usual game sites. And, of course, no one at Bethesda is talking. They also have not put out any press releases regarding this site or the possibility of Fallout 4 at all. Ever.

So whether this is legitimate progress for fans or an elaborate hoax is unknown, but it appears we will find out in less than a month. If anything changes between now and December 11, the news slaves here at XBA will keep you updated.

Boo- these people obviously have way too much time on their hands.

It's worth noting that a script from a fo4 casting call has been validated... at least there is some hope.

The new Mad Max game is the closest we are going to get for awhile. I think Bethesda can be more vindictive then Vault-Tec itself.

Maybe, but I can concede it'll never happen. Bethesda didn't even let them do the mmo they had a contract for, lol.

I'd like some of the Obsidian people to be brought in, so they could preserve the feel of the originals that NV captured, but take advantage of all the technological advances and staff that Bethesda brings to the game.

Also, Mad max is not an rpg, so I am disappoint.

To me I thought NV was essentially Fallout 3 with the brightness turned up to 1991.

Both of these. I can't muster interest in Mad Max as another rage/borderlands/wasteland action game.

so nobody here realizes before fallout 4 most likely will be the fallout online game? we will get info on dec 11th this year on either or , most likely culprit is a teaser trailer for a fallout game that is untitled.
