It's worth mentioning Shiv's are immune to psy attacks. They are good at fighting Ethereals for that reason.

From what I have played so far this makes a great game even better! The upgrades and additional story are well worth the $40.00.

I'll be picking it up eventually, but could they have chosen a worse window to launch the game in? Already played through the original & I think my gamerscore is ~800 on it. The issue with the achievements for this new game, is that it looks like you'll have to get pretty busy into the main story all over again, before these new achievements will start to pop

They will all pop in your first play-through if you know how to manage your resources. Not really an issue if you plan on beating the new storyline once.

Whee I have this now, started an Ironman campaign. I love how they incorporated so many options when you start a new game. Especially how you can make it so the only tutorials they give are related to the new stuff like MELD and genetic engineering.
I know there's no mp achievements but if anyone wants to screw around in a few games of this, feel free to holler at me. I like trying to use the aliens!
Also, I'm glad they incorporated the DLC from Enemy Unknown in to this. I would have been annoyed if I had to buy the soldier customization pack again.
+edit+ man the new MEC troops are awesome! i'm just about to upgrade to the second tier of the mech suits. I also built a gene lab but have only slightly modded 1 soldier so far.
++edit++ some of these maps are just incredible. i've never had so much fun strategizing a firefight through strip malls, fishing villages, the top of a skyscraper, a train terminal, and boy oh boy the gas station fights.

Dude it is LOLZ. The aliens attacked my base but luckily all 4 of my MEC troops had just gotten out of the hospital, I was punching the SHIT out of the mutons and psi-sectoids.
The funniest things so far were when my MEC cpl punched a muton through a wall, and another mission where my MEC russian ex-sniper chick punched an EXALT sniper off the roof--his body landed down on the street but his rifle was still laying at her feet. I couldn't quit laughing.
Oh, also, it's hilarious to punch a car that an enemy is hiding behind.
Kat was a really good support unit in my game 1 but a thin man got a lucky crit and splattered her.
I'm on game 2 now (focusing exclusively on MECs this time, no genetic engineering) and once I build a psi-lab, I'll see if I get another mega psychic savant Snapple Cap like I did in Enemy Unknown.
