As for my two cents, it's six of one and half a dozen of the other in my book. I just love playing games and achievements are an added benefit. I love hearing that pop when I unlock another one but I usually won't go outta my way to grind out the completions. Case and point: The Godfather. You have to spend a handful of extra hours after finishing the story to reach respect level 50 with only banks and racket trucks to rob and I just couldn't stand it anymore. Plus I still had 98/100 film reels after going through them all twice and refused to do it again to find the last 2 I needed.

I kinda have to go with Gamer Score (especially since my completion percentage is rather low) It just means that when I do get 100% or better, it's just that much more special.
