Did you buy from Gamestop and was there a gamestop seal indicating it was already open at one point ... if so its possible one of the employees took it or someone took it off the shelf and wrote it down and used it (those are my guesses o.O) if its within 30 days just exchange it for another "new" copy
Yeah I bought it from Gamestop, but it was shrink wrapped still and had a seal on it. From what I read on the Steam boards a few other people seem to be having the same problem after buying their copies from Gamestop.

The thing that pisses me off about Gamestop, is the bullshit they try to feed you about upcoming games and how it's going to be great, just to get you to pre-order that shit stain of a game.

lol thats why I hated working there. Cant believe I actually stayed as long as I did. I was always forcing myself to bullshit people. I eventually stopped. I would just ask people while ringing them up, if there was any up coming games they wanted to reserve... if they said no... that was it. But my managers would always tell me I need to push reserves more....

Junior enlightened me a few months ago why they push reserves so much. The more reserves an employee gets under their belt, the more hours they get to work. What kind of bullshit is that?

Didnt work like that for me. Game Advisors work the most garbage hours. I was always either doing 8 a week, or 14 a week. I remember for 3 month stretch I lead our store in Reserves, and Subs. Never got more hours. I guess I was robbed.

How do you live off of 8 or 14 hours a week? And do you get any other incentive(s) out of getting pre-orders?

Damn man thats terrible hours for a full week. I work weekends at the drive in and I still pulled in 12 hours (I had tonight off).
Yeah it sucked. But they were okay since I was still in HS at the time. But geez... they could have atleast put me at a constant 14 hours a week with how good I was with reserves and subs. But nope.. I would either get 8... and sometimes just 4. Yes 4, i shit you not. 4 hours.
Like I said its cool for 6 months lol. All I ever did with my money was buy games and gas to get there lol.

Here is the bullshit I get when I try using my key that came with my NEW copy of Portal 2.
If I find out that they took my key and resealed the game I'm done with Gamestop. That's what I get for going to a different Gamestop that I usually go to.

LOL! Its funny you said that. Thats exactly how I got after about a year. Every check your buying games lol. Everywhere you look you see games. Every person you talk to... its about games. It makes you sick. I had a big falling out with my xbox 
I never played... only watched movies. I even stopped posting here for a while.
