Thank you PSN Hackers!

I have had 2 Xbox 360's (arcade white consoles) listed locally on craigslist for a month now. Several interested people but none ever came through.

So today a kid texts me about trading his 160gb PS3 Slim for my 20gb arcade model 360. I figured there must be a catch...NOPE. He's just sick of not being able to play online and figured now is the time to switch to Xbox.

Nice little upgrade from an Xbox I was selling for $150 anyway. I'll take a $300 PS3 for my old Xbox any day.

Mine's sitting next to my Wii where it will stay. It comes in handy when I want to watch Blu-Ray's or play a PS2/PS1 game.

That is so wild that the PSN is still down. I would imagine that they would have people around the clock working on that issue. Does anyone know what kind of compensation they are giving their members for the inconvience?

Unless they changed what they originally annouced it was free 30 days of service and some select downloadable content will be free to download, so basically not a whole hell of a lot of compensation going down at Sony. Who knows if they'll even be able to afford to run an internet service after all the class action lawsuits get settled :laugh:

I've heard 2 different things. One is that the hackers are an organization known as Anonymous. Sony found a message from Anonymous "We discovered that the intruders had planted a file on one of our Sony Online Entertainment servers named “Anonymous” with the words 'We are Legion.'" Second thing I've heard is that all Sony users are going to receive a month of free playstation plus, however this has not been confirmed yet.

Also for anyone who knows/cares the first ps3 jailbreaker/hacker "GeoHotz", who was being sued by Sony for using Linux to access a DEV account, has had all the charges dropped and is basically free to go. I think Mr. Hotz is part of this Anonymous organization and Sony knows what they can do to them.

Ive watched Anonymous videos on youtube and they seem like a group who should not be fucked with. In their videos they have said that if one of their own goes down, 10 more will rise up, like they did for GeoHotz. They have claimed that they are only after the big corporations, not the people. If you read the article, it says that out of all the information stolen, there has not been any suspicious/fraudulent activity reported by any of the credit card companies, so most people should be safe that way.

That's a bunch of crap. They are not freedom fighters, just plain criminals.

Yes, there are many reports of people getting unauthorized charges on their cards. Even VISA released an statement telling people that they won't be held accountable for this charges.

And they are not scaring anybody. As usual these investigations take a long time, but they will pay. Cybercrime is as punishable as any other type of crime. Drug dealers, murderers, predators, terrorists, etc. are people "not to be fucked with", and they go down nevertheless.

There are also logs of the conversations between these hackers, and you can see the maliciousness of these attacks.

Well it was a free service. It doesn't even compare to if Live was down this long. With Microsoft increasing the price this year, you better believe that it wouldn't be down this long. I also want to believe that as much time and money that they have put into Live that it isn't as open to attacks.

Some still won't go Xbox though, which is sad. I would rather pay for a dependable service then take my chances with the crap shoot that is PSN.

TBH why even compensate them they aren't paying for it lol I'd only give the people already subscribed to PS+ something because they are actually wasting money then
