Sure, maybe you can find a ghetto ass Xbox for $50 somewhere, and buy some cheap ass games. Cool. But if you cant afford $60 a YEAR for something, then you probably shouldn't be wasting your time. And thats my opinion Professor Genius....
Now see in some cases its not that they cant afford it every year its that some people dont play online enough so that $60 would be a waste which is why they added the optional PSN+ for those who wanted to pay and get some extras with it.

You said people have different financial situations, some people can only afford ghetto xbox's and cheap games, and that $60 year might be expensive. A guy from Gamestop told me they sent out a '$100 off the purchase of a PS3' coupon to all members of their new card, recently. Think that has something to do with sales going up?
