After playing all the way through the game, I replayed the same damn "your riding a Brumac(sp?)" level to get 100k kills In GOW 2 about a million times . Had to be the most worst thing.

nothing too crazy......... but i do boost alot.
recently completed the bourne conspiracy.
the last achievement i needed was for beating a mission with less than 10% accuracy.
i actually struggled with it.
ended up playing the 2nd level again, getting to 100% accuracy without TRYING, and shooting at a wall for 5 minutes until it dropped to 2% lol. is that strange enough?

i never got that achievement. i found that to be the hardest one. No matter how hard I tried, I could not ever be terrible enough to go that low. It was driving me insane!!!
Lol, you guys are great! Did you ever think about shooting your gun a bunch of times then using melee attacks the rest of the level? .....just sayin!
I've done lots of strange things for achievements, none come to mind at the moment though.

The hours spent sitting in lobbies for NBA Live 07 "1000 people online" achievement is probably number 1 for me.
Another one is rubber banding the right trigger racing at Bristol in NASCAR 08 to get the "Win a race at 100% distance." 5 hours later Mark Martin had won the Sharpie 500 by 26 laps, achievement unlocked! lol

Rubber banding my controller for Superman Returns ach - Frequent Flyer - Travel at least 10,000 miles - 30 pts.
Boosting Overlord online ach's for Pillager and Slayer. Starting a match then you quit, I win, start another match, I quit, you win. Over + over. Rinse + repeat. It was 240 pts, so it was worth it. A big thank you to ForeverDarkHalo for that one.

I doubt I would have to get those... but I might just have to play them in order to get to #1 in Delaware eventually.
By the way, thanks guys for sharing this stuff. It's awesome to know that I am in good company like this when it comes to getting achievements. I hate to say this, but people tend to laugh at me because I enjoy getting these. The sound is addicting. Bleep Bloop.

of course, but the game's weird about it, lol.
i first tried this on the "survive the professor" mission.
every successful hit bumped my accuracy up 3%
every 4 or 5 missed shots only lowers it 1%
tried again on the 2nd mission, "shipyard infiltration" or whatever.
shot THREE times (you have to) and ended up with 100% near the end.
luckily, there was an ammo box near the end. shot the wall until it finally got down to 2%.
it's a trickier cheevo than you might think, lol.

I rubber-banded my controller in the first DiRT to get the drive 1,000+ miles 'cheev, I already had all the others and was ready to take a break from the game.
God bless you, hardcore gaming rubber bands! Some company should make semi-rigid rubber bands that can be placed on modern console controllers to hold down certain buttons or triggers, that would be funny.
They could get Stallion83 to endorse them. "When my friends are getting Achievements on my gamertag, they prefer to use Razor-brand Gaming Bands!"

I've never used rubber bands when playing a game... I am sure I am going to have to soon for some of these achievements... What do you guys use when you rubber band the controller? Those really big thick ones or do you try to use small ones?

The strangest thing I did for an achievement is staying up all night to finish CSI just so I can hurry up and get it over with and get something next on my list from gamefly

I've left my xbox on all night last summer so I could get the play 1999 matches in gears 2. Also, like several others in here, I got the seriously 2.0 achievement by using the brumak method repeatedly hours and hours.
