OK folks, before you guys think this is something kinda creepy... it is not. Earlier today, a couple friends and I were playing Borderlands, trying to get one of the bigger arena challenges completed for the achievement. Well, we get to about Round 10, when one of my friends had to step out for a little bit. Things were fine, I was dying a lot (being a level 51 going against level 55 enemies) but the other friend was able to take care of things instead... well, then we get to Round 13, Wave 1.
I decided to let my brother play for a little bit, resigned to the fact that yes I was going to get killed again and sent to the so so hated Penalty Box... Well, when I get back, I am in the Penalty box joined by my other friend, who fell victim to the Vampire Ring of Death addition... Basically putting our hard work and time spent in the hands of a friend who was at McDonalds of all places, while his character sat in the corner, with his health draining.
Well, in a brush of brilliance, my friend decides that since we are all soldiers, let's just use the cauterize perk to make sure my other friend's character doesn't die, thus preserving our opportunity at the achievement. For 45 minutes we each used our guns, me using a Sniper Rifle, and he using a Rocket Launcher, waiting for our friend. Then, once the friend returned, we were able to finish up the remaining Rounds and waves and got the Gully achievement for Borderlands.
Well, we all laughed about this and it got me to think, what lengths have you guys gone to get an achievement? I am sure you guys have some interesting stories and we can all share a laugh.
