Silicon Knights Recalling and Destroying All Unsold Copies of Their Games With Unreal Engine Code

Court order requires that Silicon Knights destroy all video game code and Unreal Engine code associated with Too Human, X-Men: Destiny, The Box/Ritualyst, The Sandman, and Siren in the Maelstorm by December 10th, 2012. They can no longer produce, sell, or distribute these games, and must recall all the unsold copies at their own expense in order to destroy them.

Looks like these games will finally be worth something. Sucks though because I would have LOVED to have seen an Eternal Darkness 2

I wonder why. It sounds like someone found a flaw in the code and Epic doesn't want it known or exploited. I also wonder if this will apply to used games, like the unsold copies sitting on the shelves at Gamestop.

I was just wondering the same thing. I know each of those games were $10.00 or less at Gamestop.

Another reason for me too pick up Too Human again. I already bought X-Men and I regret it, but at least now I might be able to get some money out of it.

Just bought my brand new copy of Too Human for 5.99 (plus tax, of course!). Told the GameStop clerk about the recall -- but only AFTER I had my copy in hand! Thanks Ashely for the heads-up!

This just seems obscenely wasteful. I think that they should halt further production, of course, but I think everything else should be sold and all of that money be given to Epic or charity for that matter.

This just seems like it could be handled better.
