Right now, in my opinion, I think FFXIII is my choice for GoTY. But there are some great looking games that will be coming out so I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on those to see if they change my mind.

My problem with this game is I don't know if I want to get it. Sure, the reviews are good, but they were good for GTA4 and that game sucked ass. I normally like GTA games, but 4 was by far the worst I'd played and very undeserving of all the accolades it got. I got 2 copies, by preordering, and felt like I'd been ripped off $120 when I played it, so I'm not crazy about paying $60 just to have my soul violated by Rockstar again. I think I'll wait a bit for this one... But it looks like it could be good.
gta4 was an awsome game i mean the driving and some shooting probs, but i thought is was a all around good game with a lot of replay value

RDR>GTA4!

This game by far destroys anything gta4 had to offer. It takes all the great stuff from gta4 and perfects it, mainly the multiplayer, so fun now, especially the free roam. I dig the rpg aspect they added in multiplayer too, going around trying to complete challenges with friend for extra xp and unlocking new weapons. Not to mention the stellar single player, which is, bare with me, bonerific. It may have some familiar features that gta4 had but it isn't the same game. RDR is far superior.

Damn, I honestly didn't care too much about Red Dead Redemption but now it looks like i'll be picking this up soon, especially if its bonerific.

LOL which is the reason I said I don't think I'll be buying RDR. GTA4 got EXCELLENT reviews, and a lot of people loved it, but I thought it was terrible. The characters were ugly and unlikeable, the story was stupid, and there was just nothing that made me want to keep playing.
Maybe I'll rent it...
I totally agree with her on this one. I bought GTA4 soley because of the reviews. I thought the game was just OK and the multiplayer was horrible. But I am still a sucker beacuse I wasnt sure about this game till I saw the reviews now I have to get it. At least if it sucks I can sell it for almost what i paid for it.

It really is pretty damn bonerific. I was having trouble explaining why it's good to people but that says it all.
Plus there's an achievement for hogtying a woman and watching her get run over my a train.

I never did like GTA4, I could only play it a few missions at a time before I lost interest in it again. Red Dead Redemption in my opinion is far greater then anything Rockstar has released. The voice acting is the best I have seen in a game and it has a pretty solid story line to it. The missions are fun and I am very interested in seeing how the game ends.
Does he live.....or does he die?
I haven't been this into a game since..........well I can't remember, but it is a definite buy. I'm playing through it once as a good guy, then I'll go through it again as a bad guy.
I picked this game up at the midnight release....two days later GameFly shipped me Alan Wake AND Split/Second......so it's been pretty busy.

What exactly didn't you like about GTA4? I loved it. It took a little while getting used to playing without using all the cheat codes that became second nature with the older titles but it auto-saved so often that dying really wasn't that big of problem. There were plenty of checkpoints in missions that you didn't have to start each one over again if you died. I thought they did a helluva job for it being the first next-gen GTA. I could give two shits about reviews. If I think I want a game, I'm not gonna let some review sway me. So far though, I'm liking RDR a lot more.
