I'm doing two RPG reviews a week. Lost Odyssey and The Last Remnant should be up soon.

I like Borderlands 2, but I am liking it less with these platforming puzzles.

Yes sir, in Nekoosa.
I've always done well at the one in Baraboo, but Black River Falls is evil! Never been up to Nekoosa though...

Acoustic or electric?
I can give you some quick and easy tips to get started, and write up a basic cheat sheet/practice thing for you.
One of the absolute necessary basic things though is the way you hold it, especially with your fretting hand. This is one of those things you sort of need an experienced player to show you, as it's hard to learn from a video or text.
So if and when you do decide to start learning, try to find a friend or family member that plays and get them to show you how to hold it and how to get a basic strumming rhythm. These two things always seem like the biggest hurdle when I am teaching someone.
But yeah let me know if you want some basic info on easy stuff to learn with/practice that is actually fun to play and not just boring scales and stretching exercises!

Its funny... before I made this post I thought maybe i'd give you shout. I had know clue if you played or not but I just thought Meta seems like that guy lol.
I guess I wanna learn both. How much different is the learning process between the two? I assume I'd start with acoustic. I would love some basic info. I've spent a little time doing some reading here and there but I really have no clue where to start.

Learning process is very similar, the main difference is that acoustic is a tad harder to learn and play but learning it first will also make it easy to transition to electric whereas it doesn't always go well the other way.
The acoustic will require stretching your fingers more and pressing down harder on the strings. Also, unless you have all nylon strings, learning on the acoustic will tear the shit out of your finger tips, but this is a good thing, cause you need callus to play guitar and the quicker you get the pain out of the way and develop calluses the better.
Most teachers will tell you to learn on the acoustic first for the above reasons but I've never been a traditionalist at all. I say if you want to get an electric guitar and amp and start making noise immediately, do it.
In my years of playing, especially the early ones, I learned very quickly that it is better to approach your instrument in a fun way, even if it develops a few "bad habits." I mean, I'm never going to put on a classical guitar concierto at Juilliard's so who the hell cares if I hold the pick weird or like to practice with distortion and reverb?
Ok anyway enough rambling. I'll make a text file for you that will explain the very basics and give you a couple things to plink around with when you're bored. I'll also show you a quick & easy way to tune up, and how to read tablature. Once you can read those, you can learn any song you want and at your own pace.

Awesome! Guess I'll start with acoustic based off what you said. Since I ultimately want to learn both I'll just start with what will make the transition easy. Any recommendations on a good cheap guitar to start with?

I've spent some time in the jail in Black River Falls. You'll never convince me that that city isn't evil. I'd be afraid to be there in fog because it might turn out to be Silent Hill.
