Shit, then my family has been doing birthdays wrong...
This isn't the first time it's happened. It happened a few weeks ago when I didn't get a full nights sleep, so I decided to do a search on it today. Turns out it's Sleep Paralysis. It's where:
"Sleep Paralysis is possibly a hereditary disorder in which one experiences very frightening seconds or minutes of total body paralysis with little respiration and eye movements
(1). A victim in this state feels awake, but he cannot move or speak (2). In addition to the immobility, the common symptoms include feeling choked or suffocated, hearing strange noises like footsteps and voices, seeing beings or dark shadows, and feeling an existance of someone in the room (1). Although these symptoms often direct the victims to believe in ghosts, mistransmission of neural signals in the brain causes Sleep Paralysis. When a person sleeps, his brain sends signals to inhibit any muscle contraction (3). If he comes into consciousness before the brain sends signals to activate muscle contraction, he cannot move his body, and consequently, become "paralyzed"(2)."
I will say it's some freaky shit. Especially when you are home by yourself and things like that happens. Last time it happened I was on the couch and heard people talking, thought I saw people walking into the kitchen. It scared the shit out of me because I couldn't do anything but watch them. Once my body let me move, the sounds and people disappeared.
I'm getting to the point where I don't want to sleep anymore.

Solid treatment? Nope.
There aren't any "cures" but one option is to take 0.5mg of Clonazepam at bedtime. Ritalin has also been used as a daytime medication. Also they say to try moving your face muscles during an episode to try "waking up" earlier.

Damn. Why Clonazepam? Just to help you relax when you do have an episode? I mean ritalin kind of makes sense since it's a stimulant, but the clonazepam seems a bit backward to me since its more of a CNS relaxant....
I guess I would think they'd want your system to get up and running, not slow it down since it's kind of lagging in the first place....or at least that's what I'm understanding....

What I read is this:
"The idea being that establishing healthy sleep patterns will reduce instances of sleep paralysis."
I had it happen to me once back when I was 16 or so and I didn't think anything of it because it hasn't happened since. That is until the last couple of weeks it came back but not as bad. Once I'm completely over the paralysis I feel as though I've slept for 8 hours, completely awake.
This kid is annoying while he explains, but it's the best video on it that I've found so far:

Is what happens to me.

One way to find out. Good luck and let us all know how it turns out for you.

Okay. So its like the opposite of sleepwalking. Your body is inhibiting your movements but you are conscious. Where the reverse happens in sleepwalking, your body doesn't inhibit your movements and you act out your dreams.
Still man, I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this. Hopefully it will stop on its own or some meds will help. I don't think I'd want to go to sleep either if that's how I woke up. I'd prefer a little rise and shine action....

The worse it's ever gotten was when I was 16. I never actually told anyone about it because I didn't want my parents freaking out and make me go see a shrink or think "the devil has gotten me".
I woke up, unable to move my body or say anything. Felt something on my chest, crushing me. I could move my eyes and that was it. I looked over towards my bookshelves and watched as all my books went flying off them and into the floor, but in slow motion and they didn't make a sound when hitting the floor.
I then saw some huge dark shadow moving around in my room. I closed my eyes until I fell back asleep and when I woke up, nothing was disturbed in my room. It was some freaky ass shit. I was "awake" watching it but at the same time I was "asleep". I watched some Youtube videos where other people were describing stuff that happens to them during their episodes and it makes me more and more not wanting to sleep.
*EDIT*
Here is a much better explanation on it:
