You're absolutely right. Sad is a much better adjective for that clip than scary. It's sad that people would rather live like that thanks to their rampant ignorance and prejudices that have been handed down generation to generation. When she asks that one guy something along the line of "Why do you keep voting Republican when this is what it's got you?" and he replies it hasn't worked yet but it could, I just shook my head. What's "scary" about it is that to Republicans in Congress, those are their ideal voters and if they had their way, they would have us all living like that. Maybe if we had universal health care sooner, they'd still have a few more teeth.
