So my daughter couldn’t take drivers Ed through her school when she was 16, so I put her in a local drivers Ed class the summer after she turned 16. Less than a month after she finished and got her permit, her grandmother (my ex’s mom) drove the wrong way on a highway, smashed into some people and died. My daughter was terrified of cars for months after that, and never did the 6 hours behind the wheel training she had to do to get a license. I reached out to them once and they said they couldn’t get her in for months which would have put us in the middle of January, and at the time she was still living with her dad, so we decided to wait. At one point he tried to force her to drive and she turned right and gunned it into a tree. She’s a mess. Last fall I wrote them to ask how to get her in because she was going to be 18 soon, and she still needed some training from non family. They never wrote me back or answered my calls, but updated their fucking website to say training had to be done within a year of the class, 18 year olds and up couldn’t use the behind the wheel training minors signed up for, and there were no refunds if your kid didn’t take the lessons- EVEN IF THERE WAS A FAMILY EMERGENCY. Like- none of that stuff was there the day before I wrote them.
Idk. I got nothing. She turned 18 and has no license, and I’m out the $400 I paid. I’m taking the 16 year old out to drive and she keeps pressuring me to let her drive- and I really wish she could be driving someone else’s car because she’s... not good.
