At least Collin Farrel can still memorize his lines.
Nope.
I really enjoyed ONE quest spanning 4 different planets, all the BS load times. Using blatant Dragon Age Inquisition tropes. Right down to the worlds-- the end-game-- etc. But let's spread things out instead-- so a lot of the main-side quests people will do-- require multi-world jumps at 10min just to hop around and complete them.
That sounds fun.
Let's also lock out achievements-- like the multi-romance & remanent key things. Currently .52. That's barely over half of 1% of your players, bothered with your puzzle remnant BS that everyone looks up online.
But if you miss it-- because you didn't watch it like a hawk-- you're out of luck-- go replay 100hrs! Nope.
There's a DAMN good reason why I paid over $150 for the Japanese ME games on 360, just to replay for the 3rd and 5th times, for more achievements. STORY. And there's zero chance I'll ever slog through this BS again. WTF are they thinking? I know the game has gotten shredded already.
But it's just so blatantly obvious how ridiculous the faults are. The millions of dollars funneled into complete morons behind the scenes.
YES-- I would love to talk to you-- and then require a 5min jump to a completely different system, to continue the quest-- which is based off DA:I, which contained everything- in world- but no-- let's fly around more.
And please continue to piss in the face of everyone who worked on the Mass Effect Trilogy.
F the fact that I can't do "movie night" in this stupid game without more BS. The facial animator sucks. That's why it was patched with the old ME's animations-- her work trashed as it should be. The guy partially in-charge-- who tweets drinking from his mug "drinking white tears" or whatever-- you're an idiot. Racial bigot. Just like the game-- WHY an arc for each race? Let's segment the population-- let's be racist-- while preaching tolerance. COOL! Any sane mind would populate each Arc with a diverse GENE POOL. The entire production team is disgraceful-- and deserved being dismantled. With that amount of money-- that amount of faith-- you completely spit in the face of anyone who can defend your decisions.
I LOVE Sera. Miranda. I love what Bioware does. Maybe... DID. Hopefully the backlash makes better choices in the future.
Please educate me if I'm not being accurate-- I'm going off what I've seen and read. When you do a game like this-- you have a responsibility to your audience.
I'm all for developers taking risks, especially when they have the money and talent to make a great effort, but for goodness sake that means taking risks with some new gameplay mechanics, alien races, whatever--not basic things like writing, interface, animations.
I hope Bio learned their lesson and that if they do another ME they get their A-team to make the game and use the newbs and understudies to support it later, not build it.
And then as some people on here know, I put Jillian Murray (Liara actress) in her first movie. So something about main Asari actresses and me, although i think the more work you do you're bound to work with a lot of people anyway.
Sorry for my rant, it's over now. Although I think the Angara are pretty dumb for a new alien species-- if it's a new galaxy they could've gone way out the 'humanoid' archetype. This isn't Star Trek, it's a video game. You can do weird things with species.
The only reason I got all the achievements is because I watched it like a hawk. You can romance 3 different people in one playthrough... if you pick EVERY right decision in the dialog tree with the Asari news reporter, and the Angara historian lady.
Without spoilers-- the ending was ridiculous. The main bad guy breaks right through your defenses... twice. Your twin was pointless. For some reason I thought your main character was going to DIE, and then you finish the game as your twin. Your twin would feel loss just like you did seeing your Dad die so soon after cyro.
The Angara were so clearly suppose to be African. "we let the white people in (the kett), and then they enslaved us", the males have African accents. Really subtle there.
But it still takes humans to free them. What were the Angarians doing before the heroic humans come in? the resistance was a joke. And Jaal doesn't count for helping. They send ONE guy, and you do pretty much everything yourself.
And there are no weapons on the Tempest. None. The Normandy had guns. They used them in cutscenes in ME:2 and 3. There's throw-away dialog that 'if the tempest had guns the kickback would tear the ship apart"... but it's the same basic design as the Normandy.
Far Cry 5 looks good. You can customize your hero male/female and race, and the story looks fun. FUN
