Mo and Kat, what are some of the specific classes yall are taking this semester? Any you're looking forward to or dreading in particular?
Umm- I'm taking a bunch of classes. This semester is mostly making up stuff freshmen take at the U but I didn't need for my associates- comp 2, into to computers, blah blah blah. I'm dreading my public speaking class. I also have some upper level communication classes. The social media one should be fun.

If you get the chance, take public speaking in the summer semester. 4 hours a day, 4 days a week - you get to know your classmates very well and it's not so intimidating. Besides, it's only 6 (or 8) weeks. Summer is a fast semester and goes by in a blur. The 5 or 6 speaking assignments I had to do are a distant memory now. What did I speak on? I don't F-ing know! It's over and that's the truth!!!

Unless you have a total fear of speaking in public...like most people. I had one of those before...but it was a writing class and had to present the paper...Supposed to keep it under like 5 minutes...I think I doubled that from just being nervous and losing my train of thought...

Man I love speaking I do tons of it, I do a lot of informal education and my career path entails a lot of lobbying. I actually almost ran for public office this year but decided I don't hate my life and am not scum enough to do so

I'm actually a crier. Like when people do speeches, and they turn red and tear up? That's me. Last semester I had to give a tribute speech on Evol and I actually did pretty well, but I practiced for a week before I went in to give the speech. And I felt like I was going to throw up for the whole day. π
Unfortunately, I have to take it this semester because it's a prereq for almost every other class I need over the next 2 years. It sucksssss.

I am sorry to hear that. I am with Boyz on this one. I am a total extrovert so speaking in front of a crowd is no worries for me. Practice practice practice. Think about kicking Meta. A lot. Think about wringing Jackson's throat and telling him to get this place running right again.

Lol thanks. I'll manage. It's a combination of being agoraphobic and severe emotional abuse when I was early 20s. My fight or flight response is overactive.

This is exactly how I got through my public speaking classes.

Ironically enough public speaking is my forte. Its speaking to people 1 on 1 that i have trouble with.

I like pitting ISPs against each other. Yay for half price service for the next year without signing a contract!

That sounds fun! Evol took a drawing class last semester, and now he's considering changing from engineering to being an art teacher! π
