Remember when this site was full of life and AJ was bragging about Trials records and Snapple was drunk rambling and picking on Heath...there would be a new post every couple minutes. Now there may be a post an hour if your lucky. quite the bummer.

I'm going to get a B in one of my classes. I had a chance to get an A, but with my parents here I've had to sneak my work in (they don't know I'm in school), so my calendar is upstairs and out of view. Between that, the holidays and buying this house, I lost track of the due date of an essay, which was yesterday. So automatic one grade deduction. Balls.

Sorry to hear it Kat but I am glad to hear you are back in school.
As for me, the semester is coming to an end soon so it's the old "wait until the last minute" dash to get all of my stuff updated and completed....
Wait, why don't you want them to know you are back in school again?? There has got to be a story there.....

I'm just old. It's embarrassing that I'm just now finishing up school. I graduate next semester with honors, but I feel like- duh, I'm 36. Of course I'm going to do well.
I have a cousin who went back to school at 35 and got an associates at 38. He was a member of PTK and really proud, and my mom was like "what a joke, to be proud of that... He's competing with teens." My mom has a really low opinion of college anyway, she thinks it's a scam. I think it's because she dropped out of high school to work to help support her family, they were poor and there were a ton of them. She eventually got her GED, but then she married my dad and had kids, and she never got a degree because she worked to pay the bills while my dad was in grad school. I've been an ally for her- another hold out in the degree arena- and I think it's kind of betraying her to go back to school. Idk. So not that great of a story, just a combination of embarrassment and feeling disloyal.

You and me both. I still have another year to go. It's very awkward to be sitting with people that are half my age. So far I've managed to nearly ace all my classes, in one class I had a 89.7. The instructor felt it wasn't necessary to round the grade up.

It could be worse - you could be 48 and older than a few of your professors... oh, wait..... That's me....

There is a guy who is 71 getting his degree. He says he's doing it to get out of the house.

Hell, I'm 30 and still doing college courses to try and get a better paying job (I already have one associate's degree)...I don't want to work minimum wage all my life and not be able to afford to have anything.

In Minnesota, the state pays for high school kids to take college classes concurrently with their high school stuff. So most of the people in my classes are 15-16. It's crazy, and the required discussions are so hard to do because they're all so stupid.

It's okay I feel the same way about the 17-22 year old peers in my classes

Yup, we've got the same thing going on here. Oddly enough, they are the most quiet in the class. I remember being that age and pretty much out of control in school. I keep telling myself that I just need to get through one more year of torture and I'll be free. Are you doing any online classes or just purely classroom stuff?

I have tried online classes and they can have it. I like the direct interaction of the classroom.

I'm online, thank god. Can you imagine my fat old ass in a class of 15 year olds? OMG I'd die.
