I've heard enough about it to warrant a $15 purchase, especially since it originally ran up as $59.99. I'm a sucker for female protagonists, and I know Creative Assembly did a better job than Colonial Marines... worth a playthrough.

That's what I was going to say... yep, the (actual) trailer is worse, to be honest. It's sad that the fake trailer(s) made out of a persons home, are better than what the "big bad corporation" put out. The title is pretty lame, too. But I think the actual movie, will be good. Not as good as the first three, but better than the last three. You do have to give JJ some credit, for taking on an impossible task. But the fact that Kathleen basically begged him to do it, I think "as a fan" he could have stopped the retcon-decision to lose everything ever made, in the expanded universe. Thrawn, Revan, and many other extended characters, deserve a film treatment, in script, and dialog-acknowledgement.
Hell, he did the solution with Star Trek, just make an alternate universe. Even though his sucks ass. You have to give him respect, though. He started with a Sex and the City-lite TV show, (Felicity), and made Alias (which is genuinely great). People do like Lost (I'm not one of them), but it also took balls, to "only" direct the first one (episode 8 and 9 will be with different directors).
I think ultimately, this is just a guy in the right situation, at the right time, that will do good, but the best "sequels" of Star Wars, are yet to come. Will make a ton of money. But will take someone who understands KOTOR, and what video games in general, brought to Star Wars (Tie-Fighter etc), to truly move what Lucas filmed from Campbell's book, forward.

I read they did have to really convince Abrams into doing this movie. He was frankly daunted by the scope of the project, which doesn't surprise me. However if anyone could do it, it's him. The man now has two of the most popular universes under his belt with both star trek and now star wars. I'm kinda bummed he isn't doing 8 & 9 but I feel Rian Johnson (Looper) will be up to the task.

I do like Rian Johnson's work as a director. He's done a few episodes of Breaking Bad, including one of my favorites, "Ozymandias".
