Hey people, I'm kinda thinking of getting a mobile system,PS vita or one of the D's systems, I don't travel a whole lot but I'm kinda agoraphobic so even a trip to the state office or even the supermarket is pretty intense for me, anyways, I'm kinda looking for some opinions on what I should be getting, I'm not really looking to spend more than 200 bucks since It won't be used for much more than travel,I wouldn't ask but I really have no clue about mobile systems, I like shooters,RPG (not jrpg) and action titles. Greatly appreciate any help finding one,I really need something to keep my mind busy during road trips.
BTW,NOT a Pokémon fan so yea,no pokemon,thanks.

Get a new PSP-3000 (~$90) with a 16 or 32gb card. Hack it- you don't even need an emulator to run PS1 games (.iso) because PSP runs PS1 games native. Google searches will show how to convert PS1 .iso to useable PSP games, then get NES, SNES, genesis, GBA games. Actual PSP games are dirt cheap, too. FPS like SNES Doom, or any platformer, play great on PSP vs iPHONE, because you have physical buttons, not a touchstone.

Not really that tec savy, plus I'm kinda lazy when it comes to diy projects, thank you for the idea though.
@Snapple, yea,I'm really interested in one of the borderlands bundels, problem is I'm not sold on the whole 200+ bucks yet,I kinda wanted to see a few opinions of the 3ds/games, don't know what's good with it,plus I'm really not interested in switching brands to a PS product after like 5 solid year with xbox, anyways if some has a vita maybe let me know what they have for games and if they like it.

If your looking for shooter and actions games, then the 3ds isn't for you. What should sell you on a 3ds is Nintendo first party games, most of which are neither of those genres, and the ones that are RPGs are traditional JRPGS, which is where jrpgs have seemed to move system wise, on to handheld systems.

the vita has a ton of downloadable indie games, as well as the walking dead games, wolf among us, terraria, minecraft next month, etc.

The 3DS has WAY WAY WAY better games. Unfortunately they are limited. Vita offers up more variety with it's retro PS1 library. It's hard to beat playing FF8 or Chrono Trigger during you're lunch break at work.

In the short term the 3DS wins but Vita will get more games eventually and is more versatile. (the trophy support is nice as well). If your just looking for a good handheld i'd stick with the 3DS as it's games can only be played on it specifically and missing Fire Emblem, Bravely Default or Pokemon X/Y is downright criminal.

The game list for which is better is entirely subjective, and he already said he doesn't like JRPGS, no point in mentioning them.

No JRPG's? Still 3DS. Pop in Resident Evil Revelations.

If you haven't bought a handheld in forever, it's worth noting that the 3DS can play the DS's library, so your amount of titles available is far better than Vita, which isn't PSP-UMB compatible, but does have the Playstation store.

That Borderlands Vita port is supposedly very poor, like the COD-port poor, but is being patched regularly. I find a lot of good research through youTUBE, and I know Bestbuy has playable 3DS kiosks, to try it out.

Even without hacking it, getting a PSP in 2014 isn't completely insane. Check prices for the games off amazon. I got Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker off amazon, brand new- $8. Pretty sure we'll never see a Metal Gear on Vita, at this rate. Online retailers still have a lot of sealed-new PSP stock (games), they're dumping for cheap... like always, it depends on the games you'll want to play, on it. And it's worth noting the Playstation store still works on the PSP... I mainly use mine for plane rides, and long road trips...

it really boils down to what style of game you want to play. The 3ds and Ds library is absolutely massive, but I personally thought most of the better titles were RPGs and nintendo exclusives. The vita has all the psp games, as well as digital and indies game on its store like metal gear solid, it boils down to your preference in the game genre you enjoy.

you can't really go wrong with either one.

Soo, I just realized what following meant on my xbox one... I totally thought they still sent out friend requests messages like on the 360, and was like what is this "following" nonsense. I apologize, and I am all caught up now.

Anyone else here with a XOne have problems with it reading discs? Been having issues with it for a couple months, basically right after I got it, but now out of the 15 games on disc I have, it only reads 2. Called support and they said I gotta send it in for repairs :(
