Picked up a Dreamcast today for $30, and two VMUs for $5. Proceeded to buy 100 CD-R's. Learned a nifty thing about burning .iso files, and how you don't even need to mod the Dreamcast to read them. 1st disc... Soul Caliber CD-R. Boots up perfectly. Game still holds up 14yrs later. Good 'ol Dreamcast.

First thing I did when I got one was go out and buy a pack of 100 CD-R's and did the same thing. Still wish I had my soft modded PS2 though.

Nope, it should be free on the phone now. Discount was for people who bought it before they made the game free on the phone.
The game still says $6.99 on my phone, but anyway I looked it up when I got home and that deal was only for the people who bought it before Dec. 15th.

The burn I got of Skies of Arcadia has a gamershark code built-in, it says, that you can switch on or off-- infinite HP, gold, etc. Will definitely help so I don't have to grind. Back when I bought this, I remember getting to disc 2, maybe 66% complete, but never finished it.
They also have this 'capcom fighter' disc, that puts marvel vs capcom 2, street fighter 3, snk vs capcom 2, and more, all on one cdr. I've burnt it but haven't tried it yet. So far Sonic Adventure's burn works flawlessly. The used Dreamcast sounds a little loud when loading, but I have a 7-day return policy. Just hesitate to return it & end up with something that's legit bad. So will wait and see- a little noise isn't so bad on a 14yr old system

And yeah, all of those were originally arcade games and back then memory was expensive. We never noticed it looking bad because everything was in 480i. You can store a ton of low-res, <32bit color textures on a CDR.
