Krogan rebellion would be awesome.
What I would really love to see is a semi-open sandbox game set in the Mass Effect universe, maybe just before the first game.
You would create your main human character like in the other games, but then eventually would get 2 other characters that take part in the story and you could switch between them like how you do in gta5. You could eventually buy your own ship and shuttle to get around, even a Mako like car if you wanted, and also one of your non-human characters could become a Spectre.
They would keep in the coop mp from 3 but you would create a separate character for this, also like gta5, and depending what race you chose that would give you certain stats and powers to choose from. Like if you're a Krogan, you would start as a regular warrior but could then train to be a berserker, shaman or warlord. A Quarian could be an engineer, sniper, or that sort of support class the male got later in mp expansions.
Your human mp character could choose to join the Alliance, Cerberus or remain an independent, possibly becoming a bounty hunter or privateer. They would be weaker than the other races but also have the widest choices for class/career.
I know this will never happen, at least not in the ME franchise, but it would be so fun. Open-world sci fi games are pretty rare these days, and having multiple characters of different races would really open up the story potential.

Today was rough. Got off work at 7am and got to sleep two hours before finding out my best friend was held hostage and stabbed 3 times in his apartment. Spent 5 hours at the hospital where I got a parking ticket and someone stole my license plate. I still had to go to class and take a big test with little sleep. Then after that I went all the way to get my buddy who finally got discharged and did about 5 or so hours of running around with him, and that's when I actually realized the license plate was gone. I retraced most of my route hoping it just fell off which was highly unlikely I suppose. Capped off the night by going to the nastiest police station you've ever seen to make this stupid ass report over a fucking license plate, and of course they were all fat front desk cops eating pizza and hating themselves. Im done.
