She is barely in the game and only gets so much attention because Rockstar never bothers giving any female characters any depth. I liked her but she was way under utilized.
Edit: With 4 different protagonists in GTA V they could have spared a strong female presence. IMO.

and does it matter as long as the characters are well thought out and developed what race or gender they are?
I'm suggesting they should have added a female. Which would make it 4 (3 dudes is a lame crew). As for your question it does matter if it's a constant stigma for the franchise. (Seriously woman are portrayed terribly in Rockstar games as a whole). Forgive me for asking they evolve a little.

meh I honestly don't care if its s good game with good characters. Tomb raider was awesome, but so was red dead. if its a good game with a good lead character and supporting characters, Idc what gender or race the protagonist is.
(I know tomb raider isn't made by rock star but its the most recent game with an excellent female lead character.)

It's not that it makes the game worse. It just excludes a valuable creative resource for no reason. Femme fatales are great!

Wouldn't really count L4D in this, as that game has no storyline to have any kind of character development whatsoever.
To be fair it was the second game of the series. It already established the 2 primary characters.
