Yeah i know. I'm really upset about that. I was really happy with the way our bench performed this year. So i think we can still make it pass the 1st round.

Anyways, through 2 days, my winners are the Rams, Ravens, Patriots, Vikings, Buccaneers, Jaguars, and Bengals. Losers are the Saints, Falcons, Browns, 49ers, Lions, and Texans.
I felt the 49ers did a decent job. The only spot they needed but didn't draft was a CB.
They score AJ Jenkins, a WR, who although he was rated lower than Randle, who alot of people thought they would take, didn't pose some of the weaknesses that were posted for Randle. Namely that Randle was weak on his routes and likes to take his eyes off the ball. Jenkins, along with Moss, Manningham, and if he can work on his hands Crabtree, will vastly improve their passing game, which was all but non existant with the exception of Davis last year.
At first glance, I felt they goofed taking LaMichael James, another RB, behind Gore, Hunter, and newly acquired Jacobs. But then, he would also benefit the return teams, a spot we sorely needed after Ginn got injured last year, as Kyle Williams failed there..... The only place that worries me is that for his size, he seems to fumble a bit more than average, kinda like Adrian Petersen...
Even though we retained our entire starting D from last year, we did need to add depth, which we did with the picks of Darius Flemming @ OLB, trent Robinson @ FS, and Cam Johnson @ DE.
Our other 2 picks went to help the Offensive Line, Joe Looney and Jason Slowey, which are both good at more than one spot on the OL.
All in all, imo, they made decent picks to cover the holes they needed to fill. I like to think their momentum will continue this year despite the setback of losing the NFC Championship game to the Giants.
The biggest worry I have is how much the pursuit of Manning has hurt the confidence of Alex Smith, who really started to impress me in the last half of last season.

If you wanna go on fooling yourself that's fine but no team is "deep enough" to spend a 3rd rounder on a punter and there are no guarantees in the draft. There was only one other punter taken and that was today in round 6.

Well, the only reason I had them a loser was because I felt they stretched for both Jenkins and James. Dont get me wrong, they both look like good players, but with Stephen Hill and Alshon Jeffery both there, I think they should have taken one of those guys. If Jenkins was their guy, they should have moved down and got more picks.
I really liked what they did today though. Cam Johnson in the 7th round is an absolute steal. I thought he would be gone much earlier, maybe even day two. He has the potential to be a really good starter.
@ Irish, since you probably dont know any Jag besides MJD and Gabbert, you wouldnt know. They have four CB's that are starting quality, have the best 43 LB crew in the NFL to go along with the best young proven DT duo in the NFL. The only question mark on D is one starting DE, which is taken care of in Branch. On offense the WR crew is set with Blackmon and LR via free agency. The TE trio is one of the best blocking TE groups in the NFL and Lewis is already proven his talents. As of last year they were the only team with three FBs on the roster because two of them are probowlers and the other is a special team stud. The O- Line is 4/5ths complete with one spot not set and a future center waiting around. To someone like you that is a bad team that needs to move to LA, to someone that knows and follows them, that is a pretty deep squad. Im not saying their the best, because their not, but there is no question they have one of the deeper squads in the NFL.
As far as the punter, when he draws comparisons to Ray Guy and Shane Lechler, you take him before someone else does. He wouldnt have made it past the end of the fourth, so yes it was a stretch, but when your punter was the oldest in the league last year and even launched a few punts as low as 20 yards in there own territory, then a punter is a huge need and you take him when you can. Special Team play is so underlooked its not even funny. A few years ago the Chargers were ranked FIRST in both offense and defense, but were dead last in special teams and missed the playoffs.

lol the jaguars aren't deep at all at any position. you are fooling yourself if you thn otherwise. QB wasn't the only reason they were ass last year, the aren't deep at wr TE and a majority of their defense. only thing they have going for them is a decent OL and outstanding RB.

Yeah, depth at WR isn't forged by a rookie and a young receiver that had 1 decent year. If Blackmon is number 1, is Robinson 2? Mike Thomas is garbage, I don't care how much potential he has. Robinson had a decent year at best with a superior quarterback.
The problem with watching your own team and then rating them is that it's easy to rationalize their ability and overrate them. I can do it with the Browns, but at the end of the day, they still suck. There's a reason that nobody has heard of 95% of the Jags outside of their fan base.

I see thomas and Blackmon on the outsides, with Robinson in the slot. they could run a 3 wr set with those 3 pretty efficiently if gabbert can complete a pass lol.
and I wouldn't say 860 yards and 11 TDs in average when you didn't play until like week 5.
