The bit where his so called imaginary dad banged imaginary (girlfriend) Rinoa's mom unbeknownst to anyone is something that could have only came from reality. Who would dream that outside of Kimberly?

I certainly respect the passion that dude has about VIII. I have contemplated making a fan-site about it before.

Beyond that, it's making up a scenario that doesn't exist. Saying that when he died, his life doesn't pass before his eyes, his dad's past does, and his possible future does. That's not a thing. That's never been an accepted thing. Sheesh.

There are holes in his theory big enough to drive a truck through. Off to write an angry email.

I interpreted it as he made up a possible future for himself based on the people he met and the dad angle was completely fabricated by his need to explain his origins. Either way I agree it's completely out of character and circumstantial.

If anything Squall's imagination (or lack of one) is just not up to the task. Seifer was the one who dreamed of starring in a epic fantasy version of his own life.

Edit: They need to bring the "Bloody Roar" franchise back.

I have three theories about this.

1) Edea kept him alive to interrogate him about SEED. The "Real" Edea suppressed the memory of starting SEED to kill the sorceress so Ultimecia would not find out. So she has motive to keep you alive (which is true of most enemy operatives) much more valuable alive.

2) Seifer is not evil and made up a excuse to keep you alive. (Again with Edea healing you, or medicine) He at least needed to gloat about his dream coming true. Remember this is the same guy who risked his life to help your team just a few hours earlier.

If you go by the Rinoa/Ultimecia theory, she would be much less inclined to kill Squall in general.

The unpopular opinion thread is elsewhere. Zidane is terrible etc.

One would only have to bring up "Quina" to know which Final Fantasy sucked the most.
