I can fully understand why people are offended by the issue.
I also agree that it is humorous to see some of the people here make their opinions about it. Some of the people against this have stated in previous threads that freedom of speech and the passage of time have made it ok to say the word NIGGER. I remember that argument, because I was very opposed to it being said, and others here defended it. Yet now, people are all over some of the members for saying that it's "Just a game" while back then, those same people were on the "It's just a word" side of the argument.
Everybody gets offended at different things.
I think it was too soon to try to do that in a game, and I think, at this particular time, it is wrong to do it. Yet just like the Nazi's, in time, people will deem it ok.
Also, someone commented about the Taliban using kids and women, and they were so bad for it. My father served in the Vietnam War, kids back then were also given bombs and grenades and sent to US soldiers, with words about us having candy for them. It plays against the value our country places on life and keeping women and children safe, and how difficult it is for a person to shoot a child.
In closing, let me remind everyone, I do disagree with EA for this, they should not have tried it so soon, but it will happen eventually.
