HOLY CRAP THANK YOU!
That alone has now made me actually enjoy the game...I can work a vendor in caravan, take all their money and actually buy a decent weapon now so I don't get worked by everything I come across.

Did you by any chance take that perk that dobles your points when you read skill magazines? If so find a medicine magazine and read it before you perform surgery. Save before in case you don't have the right equipment. Or just level up a couple of times by going to cities and killing everyone so you can level up your medicine. I found myself killing lots of things just so I could level.

I found another exploit for the speech achievement:

Standing outside of the Lucky 38 casino is a women that asks you to bug the network inside the casino. Once you do this come back out and speak to her. She'll tell you the bug failed after 30 seconds. Then just keep asking her if there is another way to bug the network. It requires a speach of 35, but you can do it over and over.

I basically killed everyone in the White Glove Society so I ranked up, which put me at 71 Medicine, then bought a Medic book from the New Vegas Medical hospital and used it right before I did the surgery, which put me at 81 Medicine.

OK I just had probably the scariest moment in a game that I've had in a while! I have boone as my companion but I left him inside the dinosaur in Novac. I'm roaming around in Vault 34 and I find this journal hiding in the corner on the floor of a room. As I'm turning around and looking up I notice feet next to me, I jump and almost shoot the thing standing next to me. HERE IT'S FUCKING BOONE, OUT OF NOWHERE I'VE BEEN RUNNING AROUND THE GAME FOR TWO DAYS AFTER I LEFT HIM THERE AND OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE HE POPS UP IN A RANDOM VAULT! SCARED THE EFFING SHIT OUT OF ME!

THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME WITH ARCADE!!! I fuckin' lost that douche about 10 minutes after I recruited him. I was at the Hoover Dam doing some missions, I was in sneak and had a stealth boy creepin' around checking shit out. This fuckin' douche runs up right behind me and starts talking to me! SCARED THE PISS OUTTA ME (ALMOST LITERALLY).
In other news, I only need a few more achievements, if someone or anyone knows of a list of hackable terminals (I only need 6 more) that I could use, that would be great. I have 100 science so it does not matter the difficulty.

lol, I dont know why people just dont play hardcore from the start, its so much more fun this way. So much more immersive and forces you to be careful with everything you do, especially when you play very hard as well, like I do...
Side note: Deathclaws are impossible to kill on very hard, even with Boone and sneaking and getting headshots on them, and if you kill one, another is raping you seconds later. I think i need to find a fatman...
AND if youre doing the ED-E side quest, make sure you dont have anything you want to keep in his inventorywhen you hand him off to someone for an upgrade, youl'll lose your stuff when you get him back. I lost a unique Mini Gun that way....

First off, I don't believe you when you say you're playing on very hard. That would mean that you can't kill anyone in a heads up gun fight and that it would take over 200 hours to finish the main quest from the articles I've read. Second, if you do the ED-E side quest you don't lose anything you have in it's inventory because it comes back when you get to the Hoover Dam. But alright?
