Lol It's "pop" up here singular, not plural, like as in soda pop - half the country calls it soda, the other half pop....Georgia calls it all Coke. Go figure

I always preferred water over anything else.
I used to like milk until I found out I'm lactose-intolerant.

I used to live in Louisiana and a lot of people down there called soda "Coke" generically as well. It happens here in Texas but not nearly as often. Most here just say 'soda' at fast food joints or 'cold/soft drink' at restaurants. Now that's mostly around Houston, when I travel around to like Dallas it's the same way, but in San Antonio and Austin they seem to say 'Coke' for everything as well.
Even though I'm used to it it still cracks me up when you order and it's like "gimme a large Coke" "what kind?" "Mountain Dew"
I went to school for a year in Mississippi and there were a few places where people called soft drinks "sodee water" with a hilarious emphasis on the 'ee'. That always made me chuckle.
